[SIZE=-1]AFL Tasmania launches Wrest Point State League
iPhone App
Thursday 19 May 2011
Wrest Point State League fans will have even greater access to all the action from this weekend, following the launch of a new iPhone App.
Live scores, updated in real time, will be available from each of the five games in round six action at the touch of a button.
Goal kickers and best players will be named after the final siren with the league ladder updated.
AFL Tasmania Business Development Manager, Trent Bartlett, says the App is another way the League is moving with the times.
Downloading the App for free means that you can keep in touch with your favourite team's progress no matter where you may be, Bartlett said.
Other information you can access via the App includes the current RACT Insurance Player of the Year voting, you can find out who your club plays next week in an interactive fixture for both seniors and colts, and you can check out your favourite clubs page with playing lists, photos, contact info, maps to each ground, and much more.
The TSL and clubs are embracing new technology and new media to engage with members, fans and supporters.
The App follows our successful launch of the new TSL website last year, which has proven to be very popular keeping people informed with previews, reviews and a host of other video, copies of the Record and other information.
The App we have just launched represents just the tip of the iceberg in terms of information flow, as we will introduce new functions in the coming seasons.
The App has been developed by Tasmania's most awarded ICT company, Autech, who have been developing interactive digital solutions for customers around the globe for 17 years.
Autech is proud to partner with AFL Tasmania in delivering this iPhone application, said Autech's CEO Darren Alexander. This is our eighth mobile app and we are excited to now be able to bring community football to the digital age.
Bartlett says the technology is easy to use.
Simply download the free App then shake your phone to get updated scores for each game.
It's pretty cool technology. Young and old should enjoy it and they'll have the very latest TSL info in their pocket.
