im moving an old analogue tv from a back room into my bed room. If i buy a digital set top box, would i still be required to get someone out to install an antenna cord to my room?
Or would the digital set top box cover this problem?

Digital set top box still needs to be connected to your aerial. Coaxial cable is pretty easy to run if you want to try a DYI.

You might get away with using rabbit ears depending on how good reception is at your house.

Yep I second that, I would say in most cases if you can get a reasonable signal through analogue with rabbit ears chances are good that you wont need anything more than them to get a strong digital signal.

Like everything though it all depends on your location and interference etc.

I have a $5 rabbit ears antenna which is just chucked behind the tv cabinet and I get a 96% strength signal through my HD plasma.

I was using rabbit ears for my set-top box in my room, and the picture freezed up a bit. Sometimes it would be all good, but other times it would freeze up a bit. Kept changing all the time.

Got an electrician in and sorted out to run the antenna through the roof one, and it is perfect now.

I have 40 meters of cable sitting here waiting for when I can be bothered.
I am a good 4 torpedos punts form a transmitter but rabbit ears dont work.

Will put a conection on the ceiling and mount the TV to a pole. (bedroom)
I dont have a lot of walls plenty of windows
