I really think this bloke is going to steal Full Forward off the steamer. If you watch his highlights on you tube he is an unbelievably good contested mark , he crumbs any thing that goes to ground and shoots out 30 m hand passes to running players with great vision.

I know we recruited him as a Ruckman and don't get me wrong its a skill that I want him to learn and to develop into but I just can't see how the coaching staff are going to leave such a good player out of our side.

If Justin Westoff can kick close to 40 goals in his debut year for Port Adelaide , Vickory can go close to 60

Thoughts?

Is Vickery the new Collins?
No Vickory is a number 8 pick that in my opinion should have gone 1 , 2 or 3 and we were very lucky to get him. Have you seen him carve Natanui a new ass hole in the U18 champion ships. He beat him like a red headed step child. In the ruck , at ground level , in the air for marks and even tackled the poor fijian kid out of the game it was an awsome display. I have even gone as far as to watch Kruezers highlights which I implore any one to do and Kreuzer looked like he was Spider Burton compared to Vickery

No my love for Andy still holds strong but I just think Vickorys importance to our side this year and his ability is a little under rated on this board thus far. I do know every one rates him though.

He better not take 3 years to play a game like your other favourite player.

I hope Vickery makes it.

By the sound of things, it seems that his knee reco was the only thing that got us a sniff of him at number 8, and with the old man the strength and conditioning coach at Tigerland, we knew we had a bloke we could trust giving us the fair summary on how he came through it. Was touted as potential number 1 earlier in the year, has all the potential in the world and will end up making Kruezer and Nick Nat look average in a few years imo.

So in two drafts we get potentially the best midfielder and ruckmen/KPP available with 2 & 8, and didn't have to tank a game, or bottom out for two years in a row. :D

Can't wait to see Cotch and Vickery combine in the years to come, think could be one of the great small/big man combos going around :thumbsu:

You're living in lala land TigerTroy and freezer you defintely bottomed out in 2007 ... rock bottom in fact.

hopefully he can hold down some games in the forward line and pinch hit in the ruck. and i hope patto has been worked on as a forward. we would have 2 towers to kick too. plus one could go in the ruck and simmo could go down there.

tyrone at this stage of the journey is a better KP forward than a ruckman, hopefully he is brought along very very slowly by the club as he will be absolutely vital in the structure of the team in the future.

Having said that I have been told that he will play against the scum next thursday night

I can't remember him doing that. From memory it was the other way around.

if this is true and it actually eventuates, it is indeed good news. i.e. they want to show the tigerheads that he can play, instead of hiding him at Coburg. Makes for a very interesting night. ;)

Lets not forget that guy we picked up in the PSD...

oddly enough, when they were debating about the venue and the night and the soccer etc, they threw up figures for the proposed crowds. They suggested the soccer final would get 40,000 and for some strange reason they were bandying about a number like 10000 for the footy. I am convinced that the powers that be have NFI as to what they are doing.
Bottom line is in my book, Tigers v scum, Ben in, Vickey in, Rance in, let alone the scums newbies, first game iback after the long break in Vic for both this year? ferals frothing from the mouth to roar their lungs out, they would shit 40000 in. ;)

Yeh but they were right in the decision. Soccer is booming after the last World Cup and we are looking at hosting it in 2018 and 2022. Don't forget too, Soccer Grand Final > NAB Cup. Imagine if it was the AFL Grand Final and the Soccer tried to steal the MCG off them for a preseason practice match instead. Morality wins.

Positives are we get to see the match two days earlier and it's a night match.

The funny thing is we might not even qualify.
