Good to hear the tigers song sung loudly on Underbelly tonight. Back in the glory years after the 73 74 premierships Pity they were all crims:rolleyes:

In the background of the pub you could see pics of players including a Francis Bourke if I wasn't mistaken.
Speaking of Francis Bourke is the guy who plays Detective Priest not a dead ringer for him.....?

Come on admit it, who sung the song with them last night ? :thumbsu::D

What a massive year its been for Richmond ............. promising youth, Ben Cousins signing up, extra members and now 2 million viewers Australia wide got to listen to our club song ....... you cant buy that kind of exposure LMAO

Took the words right out of my mouth. Every radio interview, back page, front page story, page 3 even, every sports bulliten on TV all about the Tigers. Now features in a TV series which was watched by 3.5 million viewers.... Exposure exposure exposure:thumbsu:

Stuff 35,000 members, lets aim for 40,000!!

Exactly what i was thinking.

I believe Bruce Monteath was up there too.

same:D...lmao when the kane Bros walked out tails bw legs and cursed, #$@# Richmond supporters

They were Carlton lads were they not?

(Note The Black Prince Gangiatano was also in last nights episode)
Geee, the connection between Carlton and "persons who are colourful identities" was around then and continues to this day...

Wasnt it awsome, there was neil balme, sheeds, bourkie, weg posters and all that cant buy that publicity...........

Funny old Richmond pub on Underbelly. I remember them like that as a kid, having a lemonade with the old man.
A beer & a fight were the only entertainment around then.
Hard men were around everywhere.

Yeh, I thought I also saw Bruce Monteath's photo on wall.
The weg poster said 73 or 74, the next minute you saw the Kane Bros walking and the date was 1978.????
Monteath wasn't at the club 73 or 74? Was he? (couldn't be? could he?)
Guess it was all around 78.

I remember when we used to win at the 'G' all the pubs had Tiger scarfs wrapped around the TV's as the Replay started.
Crowded, smelly wonderful old pubs. lol

The Kane Bros were around Richmond. My Aunty as a girl remembers seeing them around Victoria St and a Picture Theatre (Cinema). They had a name back then. 'Stay away from the Kanes'

Shees, Richmond's famous.
No Collingwood Pub or Crims fit for UnderBelly. Haha

Haha
Les Kane was killed in 1978 Bookie Robbery in 1976 ( previous episode) Monteath played 1975 to 1980 and Richmond will win 2009 premiership:D

This thread should have come with a spoiler alert. Haven't watched Underbelly this week as my folks taped it for me. Can't work out my new recorder. Annoying and fairly important that I sort it before the big game tomorrow night. Need to (hopefully) come home from the dome and watch all the Tiger highlights again.

As for the Tiger pub scenes, been wondering about that myself but a woman I know whose Dad played for the Tiges back in the day did mention that the Precint Hotel now owned by Luke Darcy and family was where all the crims used to hang out. Really, how many pubs in Richmond anyway? Could be any one of them.

Was too young to remember the pubs with scarves around them, but I know that my kids and I love to hang the scarves out the window after a win. Lets hope the scarves all get hypothermia this season. :D

Been speaking to my Brothers and they seen the episode. They were there on the night that all happened. There with my Dad.

They were only about 10 which makes my dad sound like a saint...haha.

They couldnt get over how good the take of it was. Just liked him remembered, even the photos on the walls.

Well done Underbelly and go the TIGERS

The pub which is now know as the precinct ( was the Depot) was one of the pubs that stuff like this happened. But the real action happened at the Cherry Tree, a stone's throw from Kath Pettingill's residence.
A stones throw from my residence too(Quite literally, although I wasn't even born when this stuff was happening, but my mum knows all about it).;)

It wouldn't have been filmed in the Precinct as the interior is WAYYY to modern to make it look old like seen in Underbelly, could have been done in the Cherry Tree, but can't say I have noticed anything specific on the show that is at the Cherry Tree, my bet is that it isn't any pub in Richmond, but obviously some other pub done up to look like a Richmond pub.

Actually the filming was probably done on a set at bendigo street.
