Thank-you but unfortunatley I dont celebrate it. Yes I'm in a relationship the reason is because my best friend killed themselves on this day so thats why I refuse to celebrate it.

...St. Valentine was a Roman matyr of the early 3rd century AD. It's known that he was matyred by having his heart removed whilst alive and burned in front of him. How he then got linked to love is not that hard a thing to work out

What is surprising is that his name was not Valentine (he got this name as he was a native of Valencia in Spain) but Rodernicus. If you anglicise the roman name Rodernicus you get the modern form we now know as Rodney.

So in fact you shouldn't ask someone, "Will you be my Valentine?" but "Will you be my Rodney?"
