Round 11, 1963, scheduled to be played on 13 July, had to be postponed until 20 July due to two weeks of almost continuous rain.

As far as I can see this was the only time this has occurred.

As a result the 1963 Grand Final took place on 5 October.

Its not the only time this has occurred - in early VFA/VFL years there was a bad weather committee whose purpose was to make these decisions
e.g. 1896 VFA Round 17, 1900 VFL season Round 3

I know it used to be a common occurrence in Tasmania up until the mid 1970s to have rounds postponed because of poor weather conditions or grounds being unplayable.
The TFL had their own wet weather committee.
After that they just played on regardless of the conditions.
The last one to be postponed was in 1986 during the first season of statewide football when Hobart and southern Tasmania got hit with their heaviest snowfalls since 1921.
Hobart v South Launceston at North Hobart, Glenorchy v Clarence at KGV, New Norfolk v North Hobart at Boyer and North Launceston v Sandy Bay at York Park were all held back one week.

There is a story from Hawthorn

3 of the senior players decided to take their wives to the pictures while the rest of the playing group opted to complete a special cross country run.

On the Tuesday night Kennedy gave the rest of the playing group a night off while making the 3 players run laps barefoot.
Being the type of man Kennedy was he ran along side them until they all had enough.

The 3 were Des Dickson, John Fisher and Garry Young.
