Oakleigh, that seems underwhelming.

Hopefully the talent pool of the last 3 years is going to continue.

Just wait till the premier gets the best zone and access to a bunch of the top kids at a discount and the outrage that will follow.

There is nothing fair about randomly giving clubs zones, some clubs get gifted much better areas than others
Yeah thats why Richmond have the most amount of availability. Are they premiers?

The most amount of availability? What?

It's about quality not quantity. Some areas simply have more talented kids. It takes the skill out of recruiting when they're handed to you on a silver platter just because "they're in your zone that the AFL invented"

I bet you Geelong gets more kids through their region than the Bulldogs and Richmond combined.

Don't think we need to be complaining, Chargers produce good footballers.

NFI about 'Barkly' though, but system seems interesting.

That's the entire problem though, if we're blessed with getting a good zone we'll think its a terrific idea.

If we get a dud zone though we'll watch as other clubs get a completely unfair advantage over us because the AFL said so and feel cheated

Don't mind this idea as long as it is restricted to identifying talent in areas where that talent might in normal circumstances go unrecognised.
The draft should remain as is with the bidding system used for kids that make it using this pathway

Then why they have Victorian Academies then?

Do not like.

Zoning pretty much killed South Melbourne and delivered a bunch of quality players to 4 clubs. Between 1967 and 1983 Hawthorn, Carlton, Richmond and North won all the VFL premierships. Hawthorn got Mornington peninsula which strikes me as more metro than country.

Hawthorn got a mega great deal with zones
Built their 70s era

I'm really excited by the potential talent available in the NT. Great work by the AFL to put a support process in place.

and Lucky we got a Zone in the NT.

Did Jurrah come from that Zone?
