WAFL Heritage

With the heritage round about to start wondering what everyone WAFL heritage is.

Mine is South Fremantle, Feel very lucky to grow up when WAFL was at its strongest. Going to the football each Sat and watching the mighty Bulldogs.

My favourite players at South Fremantle were;
Stephen Michael- The famous number 25 . Came into side and never left for well after 200 games. Could do anything, Fair player but also tough.
Benny Vigona- Mr Magic and who could forget him and Phil Krackour sparring in the 1981 grand final.
Joe McKAY- Classic old style CHB ...
Basil Campbell- Tough and instilled fear into teams. but on the flipside was skillful as most darwin players are.

Feel very sorry for the young kids today who have never grown up following WAFL just WCE/Freo. WAFL was king in my day. Most games have over 10K people going, so well over 40k fans were attending games back in the 70`s and 80`s ...

In the spirit of the 70's, a player should don a big headguard ( ala Basil Campbell ), the player kicking out after a point must do a dropkick, and the interchange players wear dressing gowns.
