In the modern dream team era, from roughly 2001 onwards, the highest score ever to be recorded is 183 by Jimmy Bartel, in 2005 where he had something like 33 possessions, 3 goals and 13 tackles. (He was my skip that day, jokes)
Tonight, on the 26th of August, the record has been broken by Matthew Richardson. Kicking 9 goals and hauling in 19 marks, he scored a measly 189.
Congratulations to Matthew and his family.
IMO, he is one of a few players who have the potential to attain such a high score. Others are Bartel, Jono Brown, Judd, Goddard and the Bowdens. Who else, in your opinions?
I know for a fact that Carey once scored 209 and Ablett 204 but that wasn't in the actual 'dreamteam' era.
