When did Wise Guy Sam first approach you?
Were you happy with all the players that came across?
Did you feel the criticism of you last season was fair?
Would you have done anything differently?
Do you feel the losses of fumbler, Snappy! and akkaps will be felt at all by the Royals?
What are you most proud of regarding the Royals?
Where do you see your future going?
Do you think there should be further expansion?
Where do you think the league is headed? Should there be a summer/off season league?

And lastly do you think we can we win the premiership?
Welcome to The Den Easty so far how are you seeing the new leadership at the Royals?
I think it's very exciting. The club has taken a whole different direction since the handover and whilst it isn't a direction I would've necessarily would've taken it in, it's definitely a positive one. The club has a new energy about it and we will now be an off-field powerhouse in the SFA. Hopefully that will in turn be reflected on field and we can take home premierships.
Are you happy with the current leadership group?
Yes, I'm actually pleasantly surprised with the number of OG Royals that make it up. I was a little worried that Wise Guy Sam would come in and with okeydoke7 basically completely re-jig everything but instead they compliment what was already great about our club during my reign. Players like yourself, Marlowe and Igloo are all going to be guns and its great that they have been given the responsibility once again to lead the club.
Do you feel any jealousy that you don't have a leadership role in the team you created?
A bit. Jealousy probably isn't quite the right word for it though. I'm more disappointed than anything else - when I created this club I envisioned myself standing on the top step, lofting the premiership cup up as captain and forever being a part of SFA folklore. Unfortunately though, I'm not the poster I once was in S13/14 and real life has ruined my chance at that. I still hope to be a part of the first GCR premiership team and get that medallion but it won't quite be the same.
When did Wise Guy Sam first approach you?
S16 finals. But it'd obviously been discussed by him and okeydoke long before that. The discussions we had were well planned out by him and I never felt that there was going to be an aggressive takeover unleashed on me if I didn't hand the reigns over. Of course that may have happened if I resisted but if I decided to go down that path, I wouldn't have been usurped.
Were you happy with all the players that came across?
I am now. I'll admit that i was a bit nervous about obtaining MD to begin with. He hadn't had a great posting season in S16 and seemed to be following my path in S15 - which was comfortably my worst. I doubted his ability to turn it around but he's proven me wrong. The Royals have given him a new lease of life (let's call the downturn in posting the Ljp86 factor) and there's no doubt that not having a leadership position has taken a load off him. Look for him to get back to his S15 form this season.
Did you feel the criticism of you last season was fair?
Not really. As I publicly stated last season a few times, I was much more active than peterss and about as active as ljp but was being targeted because i was the new kid on the captaincy block. (btw, Filthy Sanchez should thank me, if it wasn't for me taking all of his heat he wouldn't still be captain now.). I'm also of the opinion that a captain shouldn't be the most frequent poster, but when he does, people listen.
It's why I'm a bit miffed by the allocation of PVF as the Wonders captain but that's a discussion for another day.
Would you have done anything differently?
Not really - maybe jumped ship to try to get the Trolls in a season earlier? haha.
The one thing I might've done is fought harder to keep Deddy interested. It was my intention when I first formed the club that he would be my successor but he lost interest before I could really mould him into the role. That was disappointing and if he was still around when the pressure on my captaincy began to mount we could've put it to rest with a co-captaincy arrangement.
However with what's transpired since then - it might've been a godsend from a club point of view.
Do you feel the losses of fumbler, Snappy! and akkaps will be felt at all by the Royals?
The only one we'll miss a little bit is akkaps. I'm still a bit confused as to why he left - I feel like he would've gotten better opportunities with us than he will at the Dragons. But, at the end of the day it's his decision and I hope he doesn't one day regret it.
As for Snappy! and in particular fumbler - couldn't care less. Snappy! is a good bloke and was a pivotal part of the initial team bid, but he didn't have a future with us so we won't miss him. fumbler though... we'll I often called him the joker, because his quality wasn't up to standard to the rest of the club. He was another contributor to me allowing WGS to come through and lead us, because SFA experience wise - fumbler was probably next in line and that would've destroyed the club.
What are you most proud of regarding the Royals?
Definitely the first year players. I have an outstanding record with being at the club of the EKA winner (it's 3/4, ignoring my rookie year where I was only there 7 rounds) and last season we had 4 blokes who could've easily won it. 3 of those 4 (the other one unfortunately had to retire) now form the backbone of the club. I feel like I've cultivated you guys and watching the young posters grow into SFA guns and possibly future legends is something I'm really proud of.
Where do you see your future going?
I see a premiership in my future, and hopefully more than one.
But in all seriousness I see myself slowly drifting away from the board as my real life advances but I'll never disappear forever. When I'm 80 I'll be telling boncers and ljp's grandchildren how much better I was than them and that I could still whip their butts at qooty.
Do you think there should be further expansion?
Not yet. The Roys and Furies which have allegiance based requirements (at least until recently) are struggling to survive and another 2 teams would surely finish them off unless they decide to forgo those traditions. So for me at least, we're probably closer to replacing teams or overhauling them rather than creating new ones.
Where do you think the league is headed? Should there be a summer/off season league?
I think the league is in a good place. The last two season have seen a massive influx of quality posters who are now at the top of their games and they'll be able to support the league when the likes of Mobbenfuhrer and co drop away.
As for a summer league, strongly against it. If you want to play more fantasy leagues, there's other forums to do that in. Having it all here ruins the concept of teams a bit and everyone becomes at bit too friendly.
Are there any players the club in your opinion should target for next season?
There always are, but I'll keep those cards close to my chest for now. However I'll be happier if we don't need to target anyone, because it means that our club environment is good enough to keep our current players.
It'd be great as well if we could create what happened in season 14 with the Dragons, where everyone wants to play for us.
And lastly do you think we can we win the premiership?
Absolutely. If only qooty correlated with our posting ability - we'd already would've won it.
