I have been a big doubter of Terry Wallace's tatics in the past but today he got it spot on with these left fielf moves:
- Raines to the midfield: In and under packs, this has to be the future for Andrew. Played with the same ferocity as Foley in all the ruck stoppages and while he made a couple of mistakes, by putting his head of the ball he was very good.
- Bowden to the midfield: He played about 50% in the midfield and although he didnt have a usual 27 touch game he added extra class by first tapping the ball to Tuck who goaled and then his vision to hit it in the direction under his leg to Brown which also led to a goal was brilliant. Also gave Polak a goal on a platter. The move forced Moore, Thusty, Polak and Schultz to try harder as well.
- Pettifer to the midfield: Once one of the most selvish players at the club, Pettifer was great today despite scoring the single goal. Wallace moved Pettifer out of the foward 50 to create space for Richo and Brown, and not only did it allow Richo to dominate but Pettifer was also useful in the middle
- Schulz to the D50: Improved as the game went on, probably his most consistant performance for the club as I've never seen him play more the 2 quaters before
Kudos where kudos deserve, good stuff Terry
