What next for Cadel?

Not sure - he is definitely a Grand tour rider rather than a one-day rider. he has 2 one-day wins - the 2009 WC and the Fleche-Wallone from a couple of years ago (which finishes basically on a vertical climb - the sprint finish from that is always amazing).

The classic he is best suited for is Liege-Bastogne-Liege (very hilly, very tiring), but I always wonder how he would go in Paris-Roubaix - it is totally flat but seems to suit time triallists (Cancellara is always favorite and has won it a couple of times).

But he's on the improve for the last couple of years - no reason not to go for Le Tour again in 2012. Why not stick to your strengths?

only thing he could win now, is a hilly tt parcours, if Martin and Cancellara have other objectives.

this year is too flat. Dont know where next year is. With a strong team like Armstrong had, he can win next year if Contador = clen@CAS

Needs some strong mtn domestiques who can tt for next Tour, and a long TTT. Lelangue was former head of the the Tour below Leblanc. Lobbying starts. Tho they should have already mapped out every stage, but Armstrong had a Tour built for him pretty late a couple of years ago when he said he was coming back

Maybe a little ride around Spain followed by crack at the world championship before defending his Tour de France title.

Focus on trying to win the Giro or Vuelta? Or maybe switch to the big one-day classics? He would be a very good one-day classic rider.

Also depends on the team makeup. Plenty of talk around that Gilbert will be signing to BMC, and if that's the case, he'll be first cab off the rank for LBL etc. etc.

The other problem with a lot of the classics (Roubaix etc.), is that they need you to peak too early in the year. Look at riders like Boonan, his season is pretty well over come April.

Evans can win Liege if he peaks for it. And if he and Gilbert are a one tow, then BMC are nigh unbeatable. Helps to have a man in the last 5kms, to work off. Like Devolderke and Tommeke 4 years back on the cobbles. Unbeatable those two when on their medical program of that era
