we are almost at the 1/2 way stage of the season, we have all seen how the team has performed and we all have our thoughts and opinions on the team. 12 games to go.

what will you consider to be a pass mark for 2005?

will it be: 8 from 12 wins,
12 matches where 22 blokes give 100% regardless of the result,
seeing our young players be given a chance at AFL level,
or even getting a Priority Pick.

i think we have already failed my friend. After what we saw in the Wizard Cup along the optimism that team gave us last year.... then this year has been a complete disaster. Nearly as bad as 2003. :(

8 1/2 wins from here would be a good effort...50% of remaining games and no more blowouts would be great. Sure we wouldn't get priority picks...but anything we gain from getting a priority pick we loose in terms of the trabability of the rest of our list. If we win half of our games and prevent anymore blowouts opposition coaches will be more willing to look at some our list in terms of trading. Guys like Sporn and Scotland could possibly be traded for 2nd or 3rd run draft picks (assuming they get back to form) or could be packaged with other players (e.g. a Houlihan) to get a decent hardball midfeilder or backman. If we finish bottom with a few more thrashings...about 12-14 players will be untrabable and either have to be delisted or retained. The other issue it getting players to Carlton...would a Del Santo or Power be more likely agree to come to Carlton if we finish bottom or 10th?

I think honourable losses and 4-6 wins are also important for morale going forward.

we got Stevens when we finished last. I think you are right to some degree though as long as we are competitive and not a complete rabble then that should at least give us something to work at going forward.

at the current situation, a PASS would be

Priority pick and 1st pick in PSD....

the Wizzer was a joke and so is our list...

In bold. That's all I care about now. Finishing with 8 wins is the worst possible scenario and we can't have 22 blokes giving 100%, otherwise we would avoid a pp.

there is no point finishing between 11-15 ..that would be murder us and set us back further..finishing last is a def advantage, take the spoon and the 2 best kids in the country...why we have to finish last again ask your mate Jack ...should have had goodard and wells in our colours ..pride hurts but a small price to pay for the rewards at the end
