With the Americans already poised to lose the men's 4x400m relay medal they won four years ago due to a doping scandal, now some of the US swimmers are under investigation for allegedly using drugs.

The IOC has appointed three of its members to look at claims that a nutritionist and cancer-research doctor named Glen Luepnitz provided swimmers with meditropin, a growth hormone banned under Olympic rules in 2000.

Several swimmers, including Misty Hyman and Jenny Thompson, were linked with Luepnitz, claiming his amino acid programme and regime of up to 25 supplements a day was providing "natural" stimulus of a growth hormone

She must have been dropped from/withdrew from the US squad over this.
She won the 200m fly at the US swim trials but didn't attend the games.
