What position is this bloke being played at - was working Sunday so I missed the game - but was disapointed that Newts only kicked 1 goal but was surprised he picked up 15 touches.

Neitz is really struggling at FF probably due to injuries. I would rather see Newts at FF and see how he goes.

Being groomed as key position forward in the modern day and age that really requires you to play both CHF or FF. On Suday he was effectively playing CHF because Bate went down early in the match. Did some very nice things up there for little oppurtunity and pretty shocking delivery.

no robertson, no bate, no dunn and miller playing down back, juice has to play at CHF...

i didn't see the game but did miller ever go forward at all? or did we just play dutchy down there? with those guys out and miller not being thrown forward really says something...

Won't happen with Neitz in the team and struggling a bit.

Will Neitz rest up after he reaches 300. There are a few players who could take a break ready for next year and a number of kids who could do with a taste of footy.

Sicck of being smashed - atleast seeing a few kids playing will give me something to look forward too.

Miller started on Goodes, but was moved to the forward line in the second half. He kicked a nice snap goal, but other than that he didn't do heaps. Holland played mostly up forward and got to a few contests, and kicked 3 goals. Neitz didn't have a good game up forward either.

Here are my thoughts.

Playing Dutchy is just a waste of time. It stops a kid being played. What a joke. Lets not waste our time.

Neitz plays his 300th force him to retire. ( i know he is a champion and a great leader, but his time is up. injuries just cost him too many games a season.)

Miller takes his eye of the ball when their are bigger bodies around. Trade him.

Dunn needs to be in each game. He can play on the ball, or tag bigger players, such as he did Vs Chad Cornes when Port played Melbourne at MCG round 8 i think it was.

Newton needs to play FF.
Bate at CHF as these days you dont need a giant to play this position. Just someone who can lead well and take chest marks. Robbo in 2003 played like this to perfection and rarely got stopped.

We need to trade for two positions. Get someone at CHB or FB desperately. We have Bell down back but noone else. I think trading TJ, Bruce, Green or someone like this to get a key position backman would be a great idea.

We need a ruckman. White is not good enough against better opposition. Trade him. I like Paul Johnson up forward and backup ruckman. Jamar isn't good enough as the first ruck.

Sack Riley now.

Get Sheedy.

Did you join in May 04 or were you born then, Neitz is a club champion, the skipper, the best leader at the club and can still play 15 games a year without doubt, and average 3 goals a game, without him Newton and Robbo would get killed at full forward. His injuries this year include a collision injury when he landed on his knee which can happen to anyone, a finger injury and a hamstring/knee that was aggravated when he was playing in Danihers last game when he shouldn't have been. He will bounce back next year.

Newton is the best prospect we have for a CHF right now, dunn isn't a KPP and Bate is more of a midfielder who can pinch hit up forward. Hopefully in this draft we'll pick up a real CHF which would allow Newton to go to FF.

Dunn and Bate are the same height as Neitz, but they don't have the same weight and strength. However, they are only 19 years old so they have plenty of room for development. No reason they can't become CHF's in the future. They have great engines, can mark the ball well and are good users of the footy.

Think there more like 20 or 21. But I think Newton is the next Full forward, hes quick and can mark a high ball. Bate plays his best footy as a lead up forward capable of kicking goals from 50. I don't think anyone really knows where Dunn's best position is but I'd try him in the back line, with Neitz and Robbo and smalls like Davey, Sylvia and Yze and Pickett if they were fit I think we have a forward line that if coached well could be premiership material.

Dunn - 19
Bate - 20

Bate plays like a CHF. When put in the middle he looks a bit lost and never gets much of the ball. Dunn looks like a mix of the two but maybe a winger? Newton really looks like a FF to me but may as well give him a shot at CHF. I'm sure he'll still bag a lazy 7.

Dunn is 20 yrs old. From Melbourne football club almanac 2007, Dunn born 14/05/87.
Makes him 20 yrs old. Is a promising prospect young Lynden Dunn. The new coach wil do what I wonder with him?
