More like why the NL needs to have the designated hitter rule.
Times have changed and Pitching is such a science and so much time is spent focusing on pitching, why make the teams risk them with at bats?

According to mlb.com, Burnett will be out for 8 - 12 weeks. Stating the obvious but terrible news for him just as he's trying to re-start his career!
