Ray has been a bit of a whipping boy on the dog's board for some time. At 22 he has plenty of upside and don't believe the comments about any perceived lack of heart. That just BS. Yes he's an outside player....but what was Ben Cousins?
Farren's biggest problem is disposal and a tendency to run onto his non-preferred foot when it isn't necessary. If he can improve this area...and it's a big if....then you have have a potentially exciting player on your hands.

Yeah I was a bit sceptical at first. But have warmed a lot to this trade. Really pick 31 could turn out to be Sam Mitchell... Or Barry Brooks. Plus it really is our fringe that can be exposed on occasion. Adding someone of his ability at 22 with a solid fitness base I think can really pay some dividends. At the Dogs they already have a couple of Farren Rays in Eagleton, and Griffin and Boyd (last two have some attributes that are very similar)... Whereas we have no-one like him.

If we can end up with 2 mids (Ray and Cousins) a KPP at pick 13 (rough, mckernan, trengove) and maybe young mids with picks 47 and 48. It's alot easier to get gun mids from the high picks, than gun KPP's. Apart from Sammy Fish I can't think of a KPP we've got from a high pick. Maybe Goose, but that was still a pick in the 30's... And Chips could essentially be a mid anyway.
Look at Steven, young mid, looks like he has quite a career ahead of him, all from pick 42 or something.
And try a KPP at our round 5 or 6 pick, just for the sake of it.
I wouldnt call mid 50's a high pick, lift your game!
You guys also have no right to judge the recruiters and footy staff. They dont just do it part time, its their living, they know what they are doing.
The really good players in this draft stop at around pick 12, and that is a fact.
