Nalder announced Saturday night after the win he wouldn’t be returning to coach. Wasn’t real impressed at the start of the year either being asked to take a pay cut to help bring some extra players in. Also wasn’t happy that he wasn’t coach of the year. To be fair that team of the year was a bit of a mess.

Rumour is he is off to a struggling near by club.

3-4 already gone from Ararat as well with travel, work and family being the main reasons. Arnott and Mendes are two of them.
How near,

Some clubs eat their own but not Ararat. They chew outsiders up and spit them out. Don't like outsiders coaching them, never have, never will. Walder did well to win a flag before they got him. Outsiders usually get pushed after they build the club up but before they can win.
Does Walder take the gig at Stawell or return for a second stint at Warrack Eagles?

Have heard Warracknabeal , but Stawell would make sense as he would not need to relocate

What a fantastic season ahead. I can’t remember another year with this level of evenness.
Any given Sunday type feels this year. Even the bottom sides from last year you could see making finals.

Big unknown is where thunder will sit. Giants and storm both lose GFs last year so surely combined are bloody good?

Agreed...massive year ahead. Thunder a very intriguing prospect for sure. Stawell knock off Ararat to start the year as well so they've made a statement. 3WM guys seem to think Horsham Demons will be big improvers so who drops out? Not Dimboola based on what you read, so that leaves the Saints, right? As strange as this sounds, I'm just as interested in how Nhill & Warrack fare as what will be going on at the top!

You take out Nhill & Warrack and it’s a very strong and even in 2024. Genuinely anyone can beat anyone on any given day.

Nhill appear to have given a decent account of themselves. Can we give Warrack a "mulligan" ;) ... new recruits/new coach/new system in place? I'm sure Thunder were pumped as well. Warrack have Ararat up next, so things aren't going to get any easier!

Nhill with good victory over Dimmy. Maybe only take out Warrack this season and it will be a very even competition which everyone wants to see.
Warrack with another huge loss today not good for football. Walder surely would be asking questions of he’s decision to take on that roll,

Stawell pumped minyip by 90 odd points for their 150 year celebrations. Started off then season with 3 strong wins.

Yep, fantastic win for Nhill at home early on in the season. Great to see. Stawell looking ominous. Funnily enough it was an even 1st quarter and too bad at half time...they just absolutely destroyed them in the second half. MM did have some "outs", but I'd be curious to know how long since MM have been beaten like that. Hopefully for Stawell they don't peak too early ... they don't hand premierships out in April as our old coaches used to say ;)!
