One of the best things about this season without a doubt has been the breakout season of Jack Riewoldt, getting more than 1 win, seeing 42 players tried at the highest level.

However a bloke that seems to have gone under quite a fews radar this season is Shane Edwards. Consistently in our top 5 players in each game in the last month, was again very very good today. Him and MM on either Wing is a very promising prospect for us. We have the hard nosed Martin, Cotchin, Jackson and Foley and no doubt we want some electrifying pace on the outside. Beside Jackson of those 4 the other 3 have some serious outside attributes as do MM and Edwards have Inside attributes.

The midfield is fairly settled - Edwards for top 5 B&F

No it is not. If it were settled we would be right up the ladder. At the end of 22 rounds we are 15th, our team is way off the pace. There are 14 teams better than us at this current stage.

Yes we have every position on the ground covered, but do we have enough quality players in those positions? absolutely not. It's going to take 2-3 more drafts to put enough quality there to challenge for a flag. We will improve, but so will others. If our midfield as an example in this thread is going to be settled we would need to draft 1-2 more elite midfielders and have the strongest midfield group out of the resultant future list play at least 1.5 seasons together.

We need to upgrade a few players in the midfield. Jackson and Tuck need to be upgraded. We can't have players like Nahas and Nason running through the midfield.

Cotchin, Foley, Martin and Edwards is a good start imo. Jackson and Tuck for depth. We need another 2 or 3 players of the first 4's ilk to be a real force. Ideally Tambling or deledio would add to it.

Fairly settled. We have 6 players in Cotchin, Martin, Foley, Edwards, Morton and Jackson that are players that can mix it with the best of them. You then have Deledio, Connors, Tuck that can role through there which is handy. You need 10 players that can go through the midfield at a minimum which is why I said fairly along with the general progression we will get from Cotch, Dusty, Titch, Connors, and Morton I am pretty happy to say the midfield is fairly settled for the future
