Why was Abraham let go? Simply due to attitude towards training etc?

didn't have a very good year (1996) played in the magoos a fair bit.

his best years were at the kangas for actual output but he supports Freo now.

I also heard something from someone years ago that he was actually a bit short sighted when he was playing with us and this was only diagnosed and fixed when he went to North Melbourne. Does this hold any water??

Would be interesting if true - I was trying to play cricket in year 11 and 12 and was having trouble in the outfield a lot and with batting, wasn't till I got to Uni I realised I was short sighted - made it a lot easier after that in sport.

I've heard from someone that despite the greater success he had at his second club, he sees himself more as a Freo person. Hope that's true.

Nope Peter Bell is a North man for life. Two flags. Winnie will always be a North man as well with a premiership. Once North gets on the blower there will be no looking back for Winnie The Roo.

He wasn't exactly Mr Consistent. That game against Melbourne that others are raving about - it was a show of his ability. Problem was he kicked 1 goal in his next 4 games.

In terms of average stats his career at the Kangaroos wasn't a lot different, but he managed to play nearly every game for 3 years after only playing around half with Freo in the same length period.

A good move for the player in the end even if Freo didn't get a whole lot of return from Anderson.

It's not an unusual story. Player shows talent but struggles to find consistency goes to a new club and gets a wake up call.

Mind you, when you're roving to a bloke called Carey it makes it a tad easier than when you're doing it to Peter Mann.
