Have installed a wireless network however am having problems with the connection.
I have a router in the living room, and a usb reciever about 10 metres. The connection is fine until i try to connect to a web-site.
Whenever i have any form of internet activity, the connection drops out and resets automatically. Usually the web-site i am looking at will open up, however there is a fair bit of disruption whilst programs which have constant link like MSN Messenger, Skype or Limewire are renderred useless.
Has anybody had this type of problem?? I'm not sure if its the router or the d-link USB reciever i bought yesterday. I am going to try and by a USB extension which should enable me to put the USB reciever within direct line of sight of the router.
I also bought a new high range router, however the internet-in connection is through ethernet, whereas the adsl line i have is a phone-line. is there such thing as an adapator which transfers phone signal to ethernet cable??
