Hmm, this morning it is back to normal. Ain't the first time its happened though, its been doing this on and off for the past fortnight or so but I can't be stuffed fixing it.

Hit it ya reckon Mase? Hmm, I dunno, with my brute strength I would send it through the wall into the next room. Got any other suggestions? :D

If it starts to do that, IIRC that means that the picture tube is going in it.
Hitting it is a temporary measure :D :D But long term you will need another monitor, as this one is on its last legs.

*cough*

well sort of if you know what I mean. Lets just say that its death comes around just a bit quicker than what was expected! ;) :p

Hmm .. well .. kicking it and hitting it would work. But that could cause suspecion with the dents. Put a towel over the back of the monitor, make it overheat :D :D :D

Or spray soem water in there while its on .. it will go bang probably .. no fault of your own of course.

Visro is the monitor still under warranty? Take it back. When the screen changes shades or colour, it most likely is cuased by the soldering drying out in the connections. Mase is right, bash it around abit for a temp solution. :D

My old 15" monitor (which I still use for the old machine) started doing that too, only it goes blue. Whacking it sometimes fixes it for a while, but it's a sure sign that it's time to get a new monitor. I guess it depends on what you use it for. If it's just surfing, word processing etc.. then you might be able to tolerate it for a while.

But if you were in the middle of a college project that involved a lot of graphics work... one gets the urge to hurl it across the room.
