From today's game and what you saw from Freo's younger brigade, who would you keep?

Keep - Pitt
Delist - Bollenhagen, Pearce, Sibosado, Bucovaz

Not sure about Bollenhagen and Bucovaz. Did less than **** all today, but I wouldn't necessarily get rid of them yet.

And you forgot Hinkley. Or maybe he is so obviously a delist that you didn't need to include him.

I was impressed by Sibosado, until Harvey was stupid enough to sub him off. Some players just don't get a chance under Harvey which is unfortunate. Bollenhagen just looks average, Pearce gone, Bucovaz
probably the same as well as Sheperd. Pitt has shown a bit lately and could be a very fine player in the future.

Pearce is cannon fodder, decent depth player who gives an effort. Bollenhagen would have to be on a knife edge. Mad skills around goal but doesn't do enough. Think draft and the fact he's had injuries may save him. Buco is just ordinary, gone for mine.
Sibo I would upgrade and play his as our second tall. I can't see what's not to like about him. But I've raved on enough over the last couple of years, don't need to do it again.

Oh and I'm not even sure why Pitt is included in this discussion. He's 18 FFS. Elite skills, class, composure. How anyone could even think about judging him as a write off at this point is beyond any measure of idiocy. Hinkley is gone.

He was subbed off because he was knackered. Will need to improve his tank if he's to be kept.

De-List:

-Bollenhagen
-Bucovaz
-Hinkley (Not sure about, if anything 1 year extension)
-Van Berlo (May be contracted)
-Shepherd
-Crowley (Skills are shocking and badly coached. Often tagging players that aren't his style)

Obviously if any can be traded then do so.

With the retirements of Hayden and Schammer that frees up 5-6 spots.

I reckon someone would bite with their last pick in the draft on Sibo's showing today alone..
We'd be better off upgrading him beforehand.
Today might just give him a taste, and some belief that he could make a career out of footy, and make him work harder on his fitness.

I'd keep Buco on rookie list.
Bollenhagen delist maybe rookie.
Pearce delist re-rookie.
Hinkley gonzo.
Shep Gonzo
Crowls (not young) gonzo.

I would keep Sibosado, was doing some really exciting things before being subbed off. Pitt is a goer.

This. :thumbsu:

Hinkley simply must go. I'd have both Pearce and Crowley ahead of him and they should be gone too.

With Schammer, Hayden, Palmer on their way out, Griffen may want to leave, probably de-list one more.
Too early to make a call on Sibo, Bucovaz, plus they have height, size, on their side.Bucovaz may have been better placed as a defender.
Better to go hard in the next draft.

I'd like to keep Buco on the rookie list and potentially re-draft Sibo in the rookie draft with our last pick. If he's gone by then so be it.

Bin: Pearce, Bolly, Hinkley, Sheppard, Crowley, Johnson.

To be a little more strategic only bin 1 or 2 of these guys this year so we can have a decent cleanout for the 2012 draft.

Not sure about Johnson, he showed plenty today, especially around the middle. :p

Seriously though, he showed he could be a player if he could get his attitude right.

This is a good point. We've already got 2 retirees, plus Palmer is gone and maybe one or two more. We may be forced to keep more of these blokes than us BF fans would prefer.

FWIW I'd be keeping Sibo (purely because of his size) and Pearce (he's too good for WAFL). Hinkley, Bolly, Buca, Shep can go. Mind you, I'd keep any two of them ahead of Crowley and Johnson (potential upside versus known shyteness.)

this ^ . pitt didn't have great day. he's still very slight and got pushed aside too easily, but he moves well and has ability......and he's just 18. loved the great mark he took against two. showed real COURAGE; watched that ball and held it. I reckon he's shown a lot of promise this year. just needs to bulk up a little.

I recon Bucovaz would be a better player than what we could get with our last rookie draft pick and offers a bit of toughness to the side, and still has a year left on the rookie list, so I would keep him.
