Exams start this week people.

What do you have? and how are you feeling about them?

For me I only have PE and Math Studies which should be both OK but I am not expecting a high mark for Maths as i just can't be bothered anymore.

I have english studies, maths studies and chemistry
soo not looking forward to tomorrow:(
i am the same with maths, just cant be bothered anymore

I've got PE and Legal Studies this week and Psych the following week.

I'm a bit nervous about PE, didn't do too well in the practice exam at school although I hadn't studied at all. But my study has gone pretty well so far, so I'm feeling a bit more comfortable about it. At least its only a two hour exam.

Yer the good thing about PE is that usually the first half of the questions are very easy marks. Then after they get a little bit harder.

The only thing that will get me into trouble is the Chronic/ Acute effects such as:
Tidal Volume, Ventilation ect.

My money is the extended response will be on Nutrition.

I printed off the report from last year's exam and the mean score was around 50% and most people had trouble with what you mentioned above. I reckon I'll come unstuck there too, just so much to remember and its all similar. Biomechanics also worries me a bit.

Interesting you say Nutrition, thinking of that now, not much is coming to my mind!:p Perhaps I better go over that again...

I have PE Tuesday then Geography and History the following weeks. Not looking forward to either of them.

Biology and I.T on the same day, not looking forward to that. Then Music in Context the following week.

Maths Studies I thought was a bitch of an exam 5 years ago, or so I thought. I didnt finish it, no one in my class did. I did the two questions that I was comofrtable with first, and then went through from the front to back! I was averaging an 8.5 throughout the year, and my final score (bear in mind the exam was worth 50%) was 12.5, meaning I must have got 16.5/20 in the exam - so pretty much everything I did was right .

Geography, that was a dream. I went to a session the night before the exam that our teacher put on for us, on the types of question they may ask in an Essay in the exam....best decision ever. The essay question that she focusses on that night was word for word the one in the exam the next day! And drawing a map of the Torrens Island area to support the essay was made even easier by the fact that I could look out the window and draw the coastline/s as I saw it, because my school overlooked the region. :p

My other exam was Legal Studies. I didnt realise that I could write 19 pages in 3 hours!!!!!!

The moment I heard the words "pens down" at the end of my final exam was a huge sense of relief. It was all over. Looking back now, I wish I could have it all back! School>work

I will be cheering if what I do in the Math Studies is all correct, it is only worth 30% of our grade these days which is a lot fairer.

Not very happy with the two double sided reference sheets, I wont be able to read mine then as I press very hard on paper when I write.

This time next week I will be done with school, ****ing scary.

Got those same 3 exams + Economics. Math Studies I just hope they put stats galore in there and leave out integration, Geography is only out of 60 now which means each mark is more than 1 %, which is pretty bad.

Maths Studies is only worth 30% this year?

We had it worth 50% last year.

Well maybe it is 50% although my teachers have been yapping its 30%. If it 50% then I need to study some more. I would need about 30% to pass the course if it is 50% which should be easy enough to get.

How much did they scale your marks last year?

How much did they scale your marks last year?

They scaled them lots, because last years exams were very difficult.

I probably confidently answered 5/15 questions in the exam last year, with 3 or 4 that I might have got half marks for, and I didn't answer about 6 of the questions, and I stayed on my grade before the exam which was a 15.

Specialist maths was even more extreme scaling, I answered 4 questions in the entire exam, and went from a 9 to a 14.

So they scaled up? Oh thankgod.

Yes, looking at last years again it was damn hard.

Yes, they scaled up.

Not everyoe gets scaled the same though, it depends what 5 subjects you're doing.

If you're doing Chem, Physics, Spec Maths, Maths Studies, English Studies, you'll get scaled up more than someone doing Maths Studies but then doing PE, Outdoor Ed etc with it.

I'm doing Math Studies, English Com, Business Stud, PE and Religion In Aus.

So I doubt I will be scaled all that highly but I'll take what I can get.

really? i found the maths one last year fair easy!
and im sucking at maths this year lol

one down today! so glad thats over and done with
i will never have to analyse a poem/book/film AGAIN!!!:D

Yer my mates said that they really weren't looking forward to the English studies exam, there teacher was a dud to so that made it harder for them.

Well I had a look at the 2007 exam again and I found that if I actually thought about the question that a few of them weren't too bad. I just hate those curve sketching questions, I ****ed that up in the Achper trial exam aswell.

I did Maths Studies, Specialist Maths, Legal Studies, Business Studies and English Communications, and English Comm was the only one that went down.

WA have our TEE exams starting today. My first of five is Discrete Maths tomorrow.:( Not looking forward to the next three weeks.
