I'd love to hit some of those American Football stadiums. Number one would be Soldier Field and Lambeau Field.

Soldier Field? I've been to the old one. Haven't been there since they renovated it ~10 years ago. Looks STOOOOOPID now.
2004_09_24.soldier.jpg

You can see where the "old" stadium used to be. The sanctity of those columns just had to be preserved...like they'd be losing some kind of classic landmark. Oh, please. The old one was a dump. Now look at it. It looks like they just inserted a modern seating bowl inside the old structure. Columns saved...yay!!!!! Oh, they're still there...but look totally out of place. Hands down, dumbest stadium in the NFL. Soooo much potential: right on the lake, skyline backdrop. They blew it. But if you're a Bears fan...I guess it'd be worth going. Would rather see 1) Blackhawks 2) Cubs......daylight.....3) Bears....4) Sox, if I have a free ticket. Bulls? NBA....Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz................

As I've stated before in other posts, if you ever get over here....remember, COLLEGE games are MUCH better. Better stadiums, better atmosphere, hotter girls.

Allow me to reverse the question. As a Cats fan, MCG and Simmonds at the top of my list. Others footy venues worth going to?

Short list

Australia:
Subiaco
WACA
MCG
Suncorp
Challenge Stadium
Perry Lakes
Etihad (walked around it :p)

Overseas:
The Coliseum - Rome (My Favourite so far)

Many more on the to-do list (young family put a stop to all my travel plans) especially o/s like NFL/NBA etc but i'd also like to visit one of the bigger NASCAR tracks so see what its like to watch a sport alongside ~150,000 other people

Yeh i get where your coming from but its still kinda awesome how it kept its heritage and put a bowl in there. It is rather unique and really awesome to be honest. But thats my opinion. I went to a blackhawks game a year or two ago now. It was a pretty incredible atmosphere. Unfortunately I couldnt goto a college football game as it was bowl season and the tickets would be too hard to get and i was north. Instead I went to go support my boys the ravens in baltimore. The atmosphere there was rather incredible. But i know. Im dead keen to tailgate then hit up a college football game. Especially one of the big football teams!

Atmosphere wise going to the MCG to see two big melbourne clubs battle it out is pretty special. Really any of Carlton, Collingwood or Essendon playing each other. You could even throw in a Richmond if they werent so bad all the time. The shear size of the MCG is really impressive too

Etihad Stadium isnt bad either. The viewing is top notch.

Personally I think once the new Perth stadium is built (if it ever does get built) will showcase an incredible one sided atmosphere. Us Eagles fans like to bemoan the umpiring a lot if its a close game.

Avoid Adelaide Oval. It's going to be our version of Soldier field. Preserve a few 50-60 year old structures and make it looke completely out of place....

Your point is valid regarding Soldier Field..."keeping it's heritage..." But that's where they failed. Those columns once looked grand, but are now swallowed up by the new ediface. They did nothing to accentuate the old architecture and merely plopped some spaceship thing on top of it. "Unique" is being kind. At least you got to see the Blackhawks. Now THAT is greatness....and I'm not even a fan. Only thing better was the Hawks at the old Chicago Stadium (now a parking lot...excuse me, car park....across the street). Hawks have the best/loudest fans in hockey. National Anthem there is chilling. Always good when a Canadian team comes in....you get 2 anthems.

Don't worry about missing a college bowl game. Sure, there are some good ones but the best games are usually during the regular season. Not to sound like a broken record, but anything in the south will always be top notch....weather/tailgating/intensity/girls.

what's everyone's favourite stadium they've been to ? Oval and rectangular
Adelaide Oval is the best in Australia I've been to.
Undecided on Rectangular. Probably Emirates Stadium, but one might be able to argue me to say Wembley. But it better be a persuasive argument.

I already done with

ANZ Stadium
Yankee Stadium
MCG
Etihad
