Err midfield depth can't always be replaced over a pre-season? Add to that you've got Douglas off to the tribunal for a high off the ball bump (i.e. gone) and no Van Berlo.

I don't think either Crouch brothers or Wright have done a whole lot consistently in their careers, and if they become the 3rd or 4th best midfielders on the day (i.e. Sloane-Thompson 1-2 with Danger restricted), then you would get pumped by Cooney-Griffen-Libba-Boyd-Macrae

Brad Crouch was runner up in the rising star last year ... but he is unavailable. Matt Crouch got 28 possessions in three quarters of football against GWS in his first game where he wasn't the sub.

Sloane & Thompson are in form, Dangerfield is back in form, McKay has been going great and I think Smith will be moved into the midfield this week.

If you argue that Dangeffield is cut out ... who does the cutting out? Take one name off the dogs list for that role. Then again, why do you expect that the Crows tagger, Kerridge, will be unable to cut out whomever he is assigned to (probably Griffen)? Kerridge has had a good deal of success at that role this year.

Smith has been practising all pre-season for a midfield role ... and then all three of VB, Otten and Henderson were injured coming up to round 1. If there is a shortage in the midfield rotation this week you can bet that Smith will be the one to fill it ... and Grigg will come in to play across HB where Smith has had to play temporarily so far this season.
