Of course, you were going to add that the game stats have been uploaded here (until your arms were consumed by flesh-eating bugs):

And that Dmac also had 5 tackles. :D
Thanks for the leads, Squizzy1970.
(There's a few behind the scenes on here that are owed beers by the many who love their work :thumbsu:)

Noticed that JWeb had 4 frees against, but great to see Spence pinning 2 tackles.

On tackles:
8 Minchi Zijai
7 Eli
5 DMac
4 Hickey Saunders Curren JWeb

I am not convinced he is AFL KPP size at all... Not tall or strong enough....And yes I've seen him in the ruck in the VFL getting flogged by russell gabriel
I would say he was put there to support and get into the game... He played some minutes vs Footscray too
He's an average VFL player IMO. He has not been good enough forward... Just not enough football... That's why he's gone back

Roo last year stated he was 2 inches shorter than buddy who he said was 6'6
He is listed 193 which is 6'4"
Roo, Spencer and Paddy are KPP

Lee is Gunston without the ability.

Lee is very agile especially below the knees

Why do you think he isn't?

How many if any here are suggesting that Lee is "KPP size"?

You were obviously responding to my post with this comment, but I'm sure as s**t not suggesting that he's going to make it as a "KPD". If he is to make it down back I see him in the 3rd tall role back there, hence saying exactly that numerous times and not suggesting I see him playing FB or CHB. I'd have him there to play largely an offensive/attacking role, utilizing his reading of the play ability, marking and excellent kicking skills (ie, pretty similar to the role Fisher plays when not playing KPD) and would expect that his defensive skills would improve considerably with more experience there and specialised coaching.

In the last year or two we've had the likes of Gwilt (188cm), Shenton (188cm), Dempster (191cm and not super-strongly built), Roberton (194cm and very skinny at the time) and Gilbo (also 194cm and relatively skinny) playing in that no.3 role, so I don't see why it would be any issue for Lee at what I believe to be around the 194cm mark and getting stronger to play it. Just my HO though, so we'll see what happens.

Goes alright fwd for a lumbering as hell ruck

Yeah I remember a few years ago he was still roving his own taps old Sandi. He was the most agile lump I had seen, he looked like he could have played NBA.

Agree. Could see him playing that 3rd sweeper role like Fisher does. What's his field kicking like?

I think sometimes fans pigeon hole player positions. Just look at Bruce. 1 year ago we were salivating at having him as a CHB. But now with Goddard, things change.

If Tom can reinvent himself down there, then that's one more piece of the puzzle that we don't have to worry about.

His field kicking is pretty good.

problem solved.

Tom was recruited at a time when we were lacking another forward, along with Beau.

Fate would have it that his shoulders would stop his development and we now have Membrey, Paddy and Bruce.

So maybe the club has said let's use him elsewhere?

You can never have too many 190+ players IMO... especially ones that are in their 20's and further developed than an 18 year old.

First things first... Tom has to get his confidence in his body back. Once he does, the we'll really see what he is capable of doing.

Good point:thumbsu:
Its amazing how much times have changed. Dipper played nearly 100 games for the Hawks reserves before he got a regular senior game.
Nowdays if you havnt made it within 2 yrs your a spud apparently .
Does anybody know how many premeier WAFL/VFL games Lee has got under his belt? It wold be interesting to know.

Getting a tag in the vfl then playing in the afl without one will surely bring up his numbers when his in the team.

If he starts to get tagged every game it'll make him work harder. Only something positive can come from it.

Sounds the best thing possible for Eli development happened on the weekend. He copped a tag

We need him to work on the contested stuff. Him taking a tag will make sure that happens :)

No soup for you next week.

Lee - best on ground. good kick. reading the play well. losing less and less aerial contests.

Simpkin - didn’t have a lot of the ball but turned the game in the second. great physical presence.

Goddard - wasn’t 100 per cent. We had to rotate him more.

Webster - gave us some real drive when he found space. needs to do it a bit more often.

Minchington - He was in and under. 8 tackles.

Curren - similar to Darren but probably had a few more marks. works extremely hard.

Saunders - inside work was excellent again. clearance work late in the game was excellent. more kicks than handballs (which) we've been working on.

Acres - didn’t have a massive game in terms of possessions, but played his role. structures were excellent.

Hickey - won his taps. impacted defensively. very good game.

McKenzie - love his intensity. He cracks in, really has a go and uses his legs.

Pierce - got to the right spots and made some contests.

Holmes - won his taps. ground level he gets his hands on it. (working) on the marking.

White - kicked a really good goal. emulates the way we want him to play, rather than wait for the ball to come to him.

Payne - I really like his spoiling technique – he takes body and ball. He’s aggressive and gave us good offensive run.

Templeton - copped some close attention. didn’t impact the game. six tackles.

So, now we got Bruce to be a backman, and he's a gun forward... and Lee as a forward, and he's looking like a gun back... It's all backwards...

Who the heck is Lee Bruce?

Do you think Payne could fill a role down Back along side Goodard and Delaney.
I think he is 193 cm ?
