very even day, Fyfe being rested in the forward line in the last quarter will hurt him.

Those votes were given by Barry Hall and given the time those three game to him after the match for interviews I'm not surprised they featured on his votes, hopefully because he was swayed by their charm not because Barry can only remember the most recent three players he has spoken to.

I agree with this comment too, his work up forward was quite eye catching. Certainly won't hurt him IMO.

They are Barry Halls votes, so we needn't take too much away from those. Fyfe was head and shoulders above everyone up til 3 quarter time, and spent the last quarter in the forward line and a large spell on the bench. For mine, the votes are won when the game is won, the last quarter was junk time.

Mayne might have had a more consistent game, but I'm sure the umpires would have noticed what Fyfe was doing for his moments in the middel and flying up all over the ground. History says the top votes will go the midfielder over a forward, unless it was Mayne kicking 6-7 goals and winning the game for us.
