The Hawks look to maintain their winning streak when they host the Northern Blues at Box Hill City Oval on Sunday. In a solid hit-out, the Hawks defeated the Zebras on the road while the Blues suffered an eight point loss to the Bombers at Preston last weekend.
With four wins from five games, the Hawks sit third on the ladder, a game behind the Werribee Tigers and level on points with Williamstown (in second place) and Port Melbourne (in fourth place). The Blues have two wins on the board so far this season but are only a game outside the eight, so they will be keen as mustard to upset the Hawks on their home patch.
This is the first of two consecutive home games for the Hawks before the second (and final) bye of the home & away season. With a tough game against perennial rival Port Melbourne the following weekend, the Hawks will not want to slip up at home.
As per usual, 3WBC 94.1FM has live coverage of the game starting from 1pm, whilst you can also follow the scores on twitter through the official Box Hill Hawks twitter feed at www.twitter.com/boxhillhawks. If you're not near a radio, you can tune in to 3WBC through its website at www.3wbc.org.au or via the TuneIn app on your smart device.
Further, if you're not able to attend the game but near an Internet-equipped computer, the VFL will live stream the game through its website from 1.55pm (just before the first bounce).
Having comfortably accounted for the Sandringham reserves in the curtain raiser last Sunday, the Development Squad faces the Blues' reserve team for the second time in three rounds, thanks to a quirk in the scheduling. Last time out, at Preston City Oval, the Development Squad enjoyed a comfortable 42 point win and will hope to repeat the dose to maintain a winning start to the season.
Teams to come later today.
