Redden would be a good get. Has tapered off in the last year or so but no doubt due to the overall poor nature of the lions. The issue will be getting a deal done. Wonder if they'd take Mackay and our second rounder if we paid some of his wage.

Redden is better than the vast majority of our mids, and would clearly benefit from leaving a Lions team who will be anchored to the bottom 6 for the next 6 years. Thommo's retiring some time in the next 13 months, Danger's a huge chance of leaving, B Crouch is apparently made of glass, Mackay is junk, Wright is junk, VB is finished, Kerridge, Lyons, CEY and Grigg have struggled to establish themselves for various reasons and Smith is better off half back. Redden would walk into our best 18 and anyone who doesn't realise this obviously doesn't understand what he has done and can continue to do as an AFL player. Genuine B+ mid. Would prefer him over Aish tbh.

Now, the question becomes 'what would they want for him?'. The talk in this thread of a second rounder is laughable. Brisbane aren't accepting a 2nd round pick (around pick 33) in a draft that falls off a cliff at pick 25 for a bloke who is in their best 6-8 players! He's also contracted, turns 25 years of age in December this year, and is their vice-captain by the way. So just stop it with that stuff.

I wouldn't be overly enthused about giving up a first rounder, but if we end up with a couple of first rounders due to Dangerfield departing, it would be worth looking at. Perhaps our 2nd rounder plus a player along the lines of Kerridge might be a more viable option. Hard to imagine any of our players agreeing to go to the Lions, so perhaps a more complex 3 way trade will eventuate involving a player of QLD origin.

Guys like Kerridge, Lyons, Wright, Mackay, CEY and Grigg are all better off going to the lion as they'd be guaranteed a game each week pretty much. The fact that we wouldn't get a sack of potatoes for most of them is an issue though.

Agree Redden would be a big get for us and if we had two first round picks I'd certainly support us giving one up and grabbing him to help fill dangers shoes.

I went on the Brisbane board and asked. Seemed most would be quite happy with a pick around the 15-18 mark. They have Academy players they want to take, so the pick helps.

Redden is still a contracted player at the Lions, so I doubt you get him for just a second rounder and Wright and Mackay probably don't have a ton of currency.

We should give them a first rounder if they'll take Mackay and his contract off our hands!

Looks like a motel room doesn't it? And he dresses so classy too.

In Moggs Creek, that would be stylish, I'm sure most of the Geelong board think it is stylish decor in those photos. RTA furniture...I just don't know what to say, there are so many guys out there that build quality furniture. When I moved to where I am now, we bought a huge house, one of the first things I did was search out who made furniture, found a good one and just kept walking into his shop " I want some wardrobes and some bookcases and this gap between the window and fireplace, fill it"...and he turned up a few days later with plans for everything and I commissioned it it's the way to do it, not ******* IKEA.

If I ever boo Patty, it will be for filling his house with shitty furniture, not whether he stays or goes.

Not sure if serious lol. But his lounge room is a touch meh for a guy who probably earns at least $11,000-12,000 a week. But I love him.:D

Another ground breaking article from Jay Clark saying absolutely nothing...Basically can summarise it as Jay trying to suggest to Danger that even if win Brownlow it ok to come to Geelong...seriously that guy is the biggest campaigner in the media.

This comment in the story pretty much sums it up for me.

Gee whiz, what a surprise that a former Cats player thinks "we've got to grow up a bit in footy", wonder how "mature" he'd be if it was the Crows taking Selwood or Hawkins?

Jay Clark must be getting concerned, how does a Journalist who specialises in writing fluff pieces about Geelong survive in a world where Geelong is an irrelevant cellar dweller?

I see that the Geelong Advertiser are going to be giving out "Come Home Paddy" stickers and posters for next weeks game.

As expected, this is turning into an embarrassing farce.

I could understand maybe the desperation needed for Paddy if this was a Club starved of flags for decades, but ffs. I hope if they do end up getting him it destroys the fabric of their Club and their salary cap in the process.

EDIT - Yes I will be bitter.

That mentality, for a town that has known so much success recently, is pathetic.

That is so little town syndrome it's unbelievable. Speaks to their conception of where they consider themselves as a football club.
