250 games against Melbourne if he plays first two games :thumbsu:. If he plays every game he goes equal with Lloyd and Lucas on 8th on games played at Essendon.

Quality by him to go down to the time trial for 1-4yr players and not only watch but run it. Id assume he did it with the knowledge that Ambrose needs to be pushed and wouldnt have been had he not gone down there.

What a load of crap that he didnt want to play for the red and black like some were suggesting.

He didn't struggle to get a contract like you said.

He may not have been offered the contract he wanted, but that is very different to what you said.

Fact is Stanton was offered a one year contract - A one year contract offer for a player of Stanton's standing says something - It's no way comparable to McKernan or Pears being offered a one year contract.

It never ceases to amaze me that people want to polarize the Stanton issue. The truth is in the middle of the opposing views. Yes Stanton is a valuable player for the team, but because of his deficiencies he is not untouchable. He is way ahead of the second tier and will only be replaced when someone can be relied upon to average 20+ touches and bring a point of difference.
If we don't get a heap of injuries this year then there is a solid chance that the likes of Fantasia/Laverde/J Merrett/Parish might finally do for him. But he will never be dropped for speculative gifted games to one of those players, he is too good for that.

So really yaco should have said Stanton struggled to get the contract he wanted rather than he struggled to get a contract at all.

Why couldn't a player at Stantons age with his proven durability not get a two
year contract
