Then surely Neade would keep his spot over Sam Gray then?
Sam's form and confidence is down. His disposal v Richmond was horrendous. Good test of Ken's professionalism.
We know he has patience with Sammy but he needs a run with the Maggies to get his form back.
If Winged doesn't come up is Jesse Palmer a chance?

If Wingard's back he'd be in for Gray, as decent as he played I'd also bring Jacko in at Stewart's expense.

Dropping Howard every time we bring him in won't do his confidence or development any good, the selectors chose to drop Lobbe for him they now need to back the lad in the role he was brought in for.

Yeah, want Howard to stay in but we know Ken.

Sam Gray was best on ground in our last game in wet conditions- the win over GC late last year. I can't recall Neade getting in our best players or playing well in the wet at this level.

Wet weather football is having the ability to win your own ball and keep it going forward. S.Gray stays for mine.

In-

That was the 2015 Sam Gray the 2016 one so far has regressed to the fumbly inefficient 2014 version, if he stays in he needs a big game as he's been disappointing this year.

Was a critic of Neade's prior to last week but he created manic frontal pressure & is getting on the scoreboard, would keep him or Impey close to Dixon & Westhoff if it's going to rain as there should be plenty of crumbing opportunities for them.

Sam Gray has been a liability in much the same way Lobbe was a liability. Lobbe was there as our only recognised ruckman but unfortunately was so bad at everything else his position became more or less untenable.
Similarly, Sam Gray became an excellent centre clearance player in late 2015, but since that part of his game, the one thing he was there to do, has fallen away so drastically what else can he do? He's shown previously he can't play as a small forward, so we continue to shoe horn him into the midfield where he's having a negative impact.
Several years ago people would say "Adam Thomson (another clearance specialist) needs to find another string to his bow", well right now Sam Gray needs to find another string to his bow.
