“Right” call was made half way through the next play. Not at a stop play.
That’s the issue.

The uproar is 100% warranted. I just think it was the right call just made horribly after calling 6 again.

Correct call doesn’t matter. As Collingwood found in 2018.

Then I guess the correct call is what was made in the end. Raiders had plenty of time to score, and didn't.

I feel like a rugby league fan now. I really hate the Sydney Rosters after that call. What a "flukey" win. Especially after the trainer incident earlier in the match

Canberra were very unlucky. Think back to charge down the Roosters benefited from and then the botched 6 again call. Taking the officials out of it, they needed to score a try while the Roosters were down to 12 and couldn't do so.

That’s the problem though.. they were. This is worse than just making the wrong call initially. You live with dodgy ref calls as it’s hard to umpire sport.. but changing calls mid play would be hard to swallow. If Canberra score after being allowed another set then it’ll still be a little controversial but not as much as directly changing the result by reversing your call mid play.
