The midfield is where our experience is though. It’s almost like we are still a young team that isn’t quite there yet
Sloane, Laird, Keays, Dawson, ROB
They were completely pantsed.

My opinion doesn’t changeThe midfield is where our experience is though.

Rachelle, 25 games .....Pedlar 16 gamesHe’s played 20 games
HOME ...I'm just so confused that we absolutely bring it and crack in against the top teams and rise to the occasion
... and AWAY.and yet these mediocre teams bring a little bit of pressure and we just lay down and take it.... Why does this happen? Do we prepare differently when we play high rank teams?
Modra did it against us the first and only time playing for Freo. If Izak kicks their ass next time I'll forgive him. He wasn't the sole reason we lost tonight.Izak Rankine shat his pants facing his old team
You don't think the Bulldogs or Hawks games being played at Marvel would have been better for us?
Not saying we beat the dogs but maybe our percentage is better and maybe the hawks game isn't so close
Rachele has kicked on far more than Soligo this year. Probably represents their draft positions. I'm gonna back Soligo in still because we've seen there's a quality player in there.Agreed, has looked far more team orientated in the last couple weeks. Big steps. Gotta remember guys like him Soligo are in their 2nd year, they are far from finished products and going to be up and down a bit.
Underwood commentating his snap on goal was also embarrassing. She’s a bizzare commentatorRankine embarrassed himself tonight
The point is the next time we go to Marvel, it’s somewhat familiar. If the Dogs game was at Marvel we would've lost by 100 not 50.
What are you on about?Rachelle, 25 games .....Pedlar 16 games
I can see the difference I've commented on ....who do you think is likely to have the bigger impact in a game such as tonight .....you have to say, Pedlar
Ftfy.I don’t like [other people's] conspiracy theories but it’s games like this ...
Or, in the case of genuine talent, they aren't allowed to have their understandably weaker periods without being immediately dropped as they develop in their first few years because they're let down by those above them. We should have senior players who can cover for the developing youth, but the youth are let down far too often. When you see guys play well in their first year and regress in their second year, it's tempting to believe the talent is being coached out of them.
Playing the Bulldogs at Marvel is a very different game to Ballarat. Players are humans, being forced down to Ballarat vs playing at an indoor venue in the Melbourne CBD is very different psychologically. Why are people complaining about suburban grounds? The oppo has to play there too. We wouldn’t have beaten dogs at marvel or Gc at Metricon
The only people that seem to think Nicks is in any danger live on this boardSame ol same ol
Difference between this year and all the previous is a couple nice wins which will likely save his job
And doom us to more of the same next season
Not the first time Witts has "owned" him either. Nicks dragged him for Murray to go into ruck as a statement, before putting him back on... and he still sucked.ROB doesnt help either.. my god he got a bath from Witts tonight.. absolutely belted.
I think that’s a bit OTT, we just aren’t quite there yet at the end of the day.Playing the Bulldogs at Marvel is a very different game to Ballarat. Players are humans, being forced down to Ballarat vs playing at an indoor venue in the Melbourne CBD is very different psychologically.
Nicks is contracted until the end of next year, there's no way he's getting sacked this season unless we capitulate in the second half of the season. However, like I said in the GD thread, we should not be thinking about extending him. Finals are non-negotiable next season and if we're stuck in the same position or have gone backwards, then it can't be justified keeping him on after that.Same ol same ol

You may be right - Nicks isn’t doing him any favours playing on someone like Lukosius. Not sure why we need to turn wings into defenders with a perfectly good defender wasting away in the reserves. The choice isn't worrel or hinge it's sholl or hinge. Playing hinge anywhere other than wing is idiocy. What does sholl offer over hinge? Other than being short, weak, unable to tackle and an undeserved reputation for being an elite kick.
It is not, playing at a suburban ground vs a normal AFL venue is very different. Finals aren’t played in Ballarat and never will be, so why are teams forced to play there because the Bulldogs are poor?I think that’s a bit OTT, we just aren’t quite there yet at the end of the day.
Well, it definitely wasn't a day to remember ...
Haha haha ha ... oh god, I hate myself.
We won't make finals if we can't win away.I don’t want to make finals if we can’t win away
