As good as twitter is for up to date news, it also teems with people who spread misinformation and make things even harder at times like this.

Surely it is just for the day. I mean we feel for the bloke but come on even Hughes would not want that!
Look the primary concern for the next hour or two will be getting Hughes through this, then the state of the game will be decided upon.It isn't but these players need red ball practice before the test series.
As I said I get the abandoning for the day. Give the players the afternoon to recover.
Shocking of the ABC to tweet it. They're normally reliable but that was poor.Yep probably asked someone who would have no reason to know the required information.
You really need to acquaint yourself with the concept of 'time and place'.
Harford on SEN said there are pics showing he was hit on the side of his neck/ base of the back of his head, possibly missing his helmet
That they asked someone who had no idea what was going on and no idea how to handle it.
yep the more I think about it, it actually makes me pretty angry. If somebody reads that from a nobody they will get that sick stomach in the feeling then dig a little deeper. But when it comes from a reputable news source that people would think in a situation like this they can trust, is absolutely terrible.Shocking of the ABC to tweet it. They're normally reliable but that was poor.
Yes there is a photo that looks like it hit him around where the neck and helmet meet. There is a major vein/artery running right through there.Have just heard on SEN that he was actually hit on the neck at the base of the head.
I defend the ABC a lot but that post was indefensible. Absolutely shocking in this situation.
The pictures and video are much worse than the ABC essentially confirming that Hughes is in massive trouble imoI defend the ABC a lot but that post was indefensible. Absolutely shocking in this situation.
Foxsports saying he may have been struck in the heart and had a heart attack.
Foxsports saying he may have been struck in the heart and had a heart attack.
thanks.
Definitely in the neck region. Doesn't look like it's hit his helmet at all. Almost certainly hit an artery.Image clearly shows that he was hit around the neck/head
Well if he was dead when he left the ground, and is now 'critical', I would say that would be true. Not sure what the ABC is getting at, an awfully worded tweet (and article), which has since been taken down. They might be suggesting that Hughes needed to be revived, which makes sense if they were performing CPR?They said his condition had improved when they took him from the ground??
