Comedian Al Murray has announced he plans to stand against Nigel Farage in the seat of South Thanet in May’s general election.

He will stand as his comedy alter ego “the Pub Landlord” for the Free United Kingdom Party, or FUKP. In a video posted to YouTube launching his bid for parliament, he says: “It seems to me that the UK is ready for a bloke waving a pint around offering common sense solutions.”

The first of his pledges is to make pints of beer cost 1p and to brick up the channel tunnel.

Nigel Farage, the leader of the UK Independence party, hopes to take the Kent constituency from the Conservative incumbent Laura Sandys at the general election in May. The seat was identified as a possible win for the party, described by one expert as “an economically stagnant coastal seat, where there are lots of older, white and angry voters”.

On his campaign website, Murray lays out his “13-point common sense action plan”, which includes revaluing the pound so it is worth £1.10, introducing national service only for those who don’t want to do it, and locking up the unemployed because “unemployment causes crime”.

He proposes making Alex Salmond first minister for Norwich, “so he can get to understand what being ignored by the rest of the country is really like”, and a “new improved Street Raffle” to determine where children go to school instead of a postcode lottery.

The pub landlord’s foreign policy consists of just one line: “Germany has been too quiet for too long. Just saying.”

Murray also proposes that South Thanet be made the new capital of the UK and a demilitarised zone be set-up between North and South Thanet. He pledges that the UK will leave Europe by 2025 and the solar system by 2050.

Al Murray is said to be a distant cousin of prime minister David Cameron through the 19th-century author of Vanity Fair William Thackeray.

A CANDIDATE vying for a seat in this week’s British general election has been suspended after he was covertly filmed threatening to shoot a rival. Robert Blay, who wanted to represent the controversial UKIP party in the House of Commons, vented about Conservative Party candidate Ranil Jayawardena, who some had tipped to one day be Britain’s first Asian Prime Minister. The 55-year-old told an undercover reporter from The Mirror:

“If he is I will personally put a bullet between his eyes. If this lad turns up to be our Prime Minister I will personally put a bullet in him. That’s how strong I feel about it. I won’t have this f***** as our Prime Minister.”

“His (Jayawardena’s) family have only been here since the Seventies. You are not British enough to be in our parliament. I’ve got 400 years of ancestry where I live. He hasn’t got that. I said to his dad about two months ago — ‘When did you come to Britain?’ He said ‘In the “Seventies’.

“I said ‘Why did you come?’ He said ‘Things weren’t very good politically in Sri Lanka and I came here and I could train as an accountant’.”

“So he’s come here and ponced off us hasn’t he like all the East Europeans are?

By current counting that's now 18 UKIP Councillors (including 2 council group leaders), 17 Candidates, 1 National Secretary, 1 Youth Secretary, 1 UKIP Scotland Chair, 1 Spokesperson, 1 entire local branch, 1 local committee & 3 MEPs have been suspended from the party... solely during the current Parliament.

So far this in the last few years alone theyve suspended candidates (and sitting members) for slagging off Jews, Eastern Europeans, Muslims, migrants in general, Asians the poor and Homosexuals.

Bradford, Rochdale, Oxford, Newcastle etc. The Labour party turned a blind eye to thousands of cases of grooming so as not to upset the Muslim vote which deserted them for a while over Iraq.

Do you have any evidence linking Labours deliberate turning a blind eye to get votes? There may have been a reluctance to conduct a thourough investigation due to misplaced fears of being 'un-PC' by incompetent bureaucrats, but that's a tad different to wilfully turning a blind eye to acts of rape in order to win votes.

By the way, how does one 'get votes' by turning a blind eye to rapists? You honestly think the Muslim community of the UK supports rape? I mean even to the extent that if such crimes were revealed by members of their own, they would vote against the people that uncovered and prosecuted those rapists?

I mean.. do you honestly thing 'the Muslims' (whoever they are) are saying 'thanks for protecting our rapists'?

Yes, the council, agencies and police all turned a blind eye. Almost as disgraceful was Mid Staffs. Not sure if you actually don't know about this or being a knob. George Galloway gave them a big scare up north. Ditto the corrupt mayor in Tower Hamlets.

I'm not arguing that they didnt turn a blind eye. Lets assume for a second they did just that. Where is your evidence that what was intended by turning a blind eye was 'to get more votes'. Surely Law enforcement turning a blind eye to rapists loses them votes!

My question is: how does turning a blind eye to a dozen rapists who are Muslims get these authorities more votes from the Muslim community as a whole?

Where is your evidence of this? Like; if a group of Australian Agnostics in Clapham or Jews in Stamford Hill or Nigerian Christians down Woolwich way had arranged a rape/ paedo ring, what makes you think the Australian/ Jewish/ Nigerian communities in those Boroughs would NOT want that s**t stopped? Why would they vote against the authorities who investigated and stopped it?

I guess what I'm putting to you that this assumption of yours highlights your own negative views of Islam, and does not in fact deal with the truth (being that Muslims abhor rape as much as Christians, Jews and Agnostics and pretty much everyone else).

Why would the Muslim community support such a thing? Surely if a bunch of Aussie rapists were working out of Clapham, or Jewish rapists out of Stamford hill, or Nigerian Christians out of Woolwich, the respective communities would want them caught and stopped.

Did Ed Miliband err by promising to bring in anti- Islamiphobic law to attact the muslim vote actually alienate him from a large chunk of the voting public? A muslim who wants Shia law (divine law) won't vote for politicians because they pass manmade laws.

This may shock you, but many blue collar working class people also dont like brown people.

You dont see many British upper class white collar peeps participating in EDL rallies. Working class blue collar types almost to a man (and most of them are men).

A fact that Howard capitalised on with his 'Howards Battlers' demographic.
