$89 flights: Watch as Bonza’s ‘Sheila’ touches down in Bundy

Bonza airlines officially kicked off its commitment to Bundaberg today, with the first Melbourne to Bundaberg flight touching down on a blustery Bundaberg Airport tarmac.

This is the only thing of note I know of in Bundaberg

If you go let us know if it's worth it!

Seems Bonza has been cancelled literally speaking . All flights in Australia cancelled.
Budget airlines dont survive in Australia unless you have a bottomless pit of cash.
Virgin Airlines survived because they Richard Branson and they came on stream before Ansett went broke so they picked up a lot of custom that they weren't expecting Jetstar was created by qantas as competition to virgin

shocked to hear that Rockhampton to Coffs Harbour 3 times a week for $30 wasnt profitable

i say in jest
its a shame that its hard to get some competition in the skies
im sure qantas and virgin offering the decision makers/legislators gold passes and assorted perks for the last 30 years has had no sway in policy formulation

Budget carrier Bonza has been placed into voluntary administration following the repossession of its fleet of Boeing 737 Max 8s.
Hall Chadwick has been appointed as administrators to the airline, which suddenly cancelled all of its flights on Tuesday following the move by leasing company AIP Capital.

The early morning repossession appeared to take Bonza by surprise, with the crew of one aircraft already onboard in Melbourne when the direction came through that the plane was not to depart.

Didn't Virgin have a budget carrier under their own brand? Virgin Blue?

On 4 May 2011, the former Virgin Blue revealed its new name, Virgin Australia, as well as its new livery. In addition to the new name, branding and livery, the airline also showed off its new flagship the Airbus A330 with new domestic business class.

It later became a subsidiary of Virgin Australia Holdings. On 25 March 2020, Tigerair suspended all operations as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Following Virgin Australia Holdings going into voluntary administration and later sold, new owner Bain Capital confirmed the brand would be retired.

A cross-promotional relaunch could be a winner. This dog's taking over the world!

QANTAS can't even make money without the tax payer propping them up. A low budget airline is about the dumbest investment idea ever.
Alan joyce has a lot to answer for.
He would buy new planes for jetstar and transfer them to qantas when there first big maintenance was due so qantas copped the bill

Just watch the airfare prices increase on any common routes they had with QF, JQ & VA etc.

Unfortunate that the local business chambers didn’t get behind Bonza better too.

A ballsy move from Bonza which backfired.
Build it and they shall (not) come!

777 owners of bonza having issues elsewhere
Everton have received a delayed payment of £16m from prospective buyers 777 Partners for day-to-day operational costs, taking the amount loaned by the Miami-based investment fund to more than £200m.

777 agreed to buy owner Farhad Moshiri's 94% stake in the club in September, but the protracted deal is yet to be ratified by the Premier League.

A £158m loan repayment to MSP Sports Capital, taken out for the construction of the new stadium on Bramley Moore Dock, remains the main stumbling block.

The Toffees were supposed to receive the latest payment earlier this month but a 777 spokesperson told BBC Sport: "As of Tuesday, 777 has sent in a fresh loan to cover the working capitals needs of the club."

Rex (Regional Express) seems to be the only smaller carrier with staying power. Wonder what the secret is?
I'm guessing smaller planes for small locations. Those little Saabs that Rex use on regional cities are tiny compared to a 737 and presumably the running cost reflects that.
