We certainly haven't had anyone with a left boot like he has in my life time. Very exciting times. I hope he can crack a few games next year, but might need to add a few kegs first and improve his aerobic capacity.

I think geeting some KM's into his legs will be the main thing for next season.

Old John Holt had a fair left foot on him.

is no one else worried we drafted another player with *** all leg speed
everything else i love about him but that is something that throws me off

Love his poise and left foot. Does anyone know if he gets much of the pill?

His agility run speed is pretty good so while he might not be super quick in a straight line he is not bad changing direction which is fairly handed for AFL.

agree speed is not an issue, he reads the play well and racks up a lot of possesions all over the ground and as you pointed out he has great agility

Yeah he's not a line breaker but his testing indicates that he can find enough space to get onto that boot of his and get the ball to a target 60 meters away. Who needs to break lines when you can do that? He's got amlot of developing to do though. Quite skinny and not a great runner yet.

Hey Guys, he went to marrytville where a good mate of mine works in the sports department, he messaged me today saying we have spoken to brad, i asked him what hes like, he said hes a great lad, very modest and has a booming left foot on him, i replied, is he just a big kick or a good kick? his reply he is a gun gun kick, will hit a target from anywhere.

just what we need

Reminds me of Rawlings in the backline (coincidence?) in that he finds space. There, the resemblance ends, of course.

Nickname: Ali? (Floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee)

Schwatta?

'Muhammed' would strike more fear.

Interesting that he was at Marryatville, a public school with a big tennis program, and not one of the bigger private schools over here who seem to snap up any young kid with talent for their specialised footy programs.

Welcome to the Kangas Brad.Looks good great kick and can take a good grab.Gee we are looking good.Im getting excited for 2012.Could we be the surprise packets of 2012.

Really happy with this pick, as most would know.

Have rated him in every game I've seen him play in, and he has some absolute weapons that will make him a very good AFL footballer.

The best SA player behind Wingard.

Really is a devestating kick, has great distance, but can hit genuine bullets into the F50, and he's one of the best kicks to a leading player I think I've seen.

It's not just his skillset though, he has fantastic composure and decision making, usually waits to make the right choice, poise under pressure, and doesn't look rushed. Rangy height, and is good overhead.

Similar to Heppell in alot of ways, Heppell's slightly more dynamic, but McKenzie is a better kick, are similar sizes, drift in and out of the midfield role, creative half backs, can play inside around the stoppages etc.

Round 1 chance imo, will certainly play 5+ games next season imo, especially with the gaping hole at HBF.

Big call. Schwass managed to find the goals from 60-65 a few times.

I'd back it.

He can kick 60 odd metres on the run now, give him 5 pre-seasons in the gym with some leg weights, and he'll be pinging them from outside the arc weekly.
