List Mgmt. 2015 Draft. Rookie Draft on Friday

Surely Carlton aren't stupid enough to let Kreuzer go. He was a number 1 draft pick who is in his prime and played some good football when he came back. It sounds like they are already losing a lot of players, so why force even more out the door unnecessarily.

All true but Carlton are not going to be in their prime for a while so to start the rebuild they need to look at drafting in young quality players to come through together and Kreuzer holds currency at the trade/AFL compensation table.

The commission already worried about Brisbane, the team most shafted if they give Carlton pick 2.
Missing both Schache and Weitering? A nightmare for fans.

The win against the Dogs is a bit like a sugar binge for the Lions. Fun while it lasted but long term problems.

Speaking of long term problems, the Frawley gift pick is going to cause annual heartburn for the Commission like a nasty late night kebab. More pain this year.

The maximum compensation should have been set at pick 11, just before the teams that made the finals. Give an extra end of first round pick for a star player or pick 11 in 2 years straight. Awarding an early pick only hurts the other crap teams the most. Madness.

We're talking about only using a couple of draft picks we could use our third forth and even fifth round picks to pick up more fringe players like Hallahan

Even package our pick 19 22 and third round pick 40 into 1 player etc.
Or even just pick 19 on 1 player, and picks
22 and 40 on another player

So many different combinations we could be running with

Don't know much about him, but huge call. Schache is special
Murray went to Schache today a heap but apart from one nice grab he was beaten by both Weitering and Collins. Collins slipped and gifted him one of his 2 goals. Weitering outmarked him 5-6 times.
Watched Weideman against Collins this year and kick 5 with limited chances. Also his academy game against Carlton's 2s was mouth watering. 5 pack marks and 2 goals in the first qtr alone. Was double teamed after that.

Has Weideman played this year?? Early on?

Yeah played a few TAC games but played in both academy games against Werribee & Blues. Against Werribee took he took 2 big contested marks and was the academy's only multiple goal kicker, alongside Curnow & Schache who boote 1 each from memory. If he's around at 12, crazy not to get him.

From memory his pushing 198cm or close to it.
Burtons about 192-193
Would Weideman take a few years to develop?? 2MP style?
All things to consider whether we want them to play in 2016-17-18 etc?

Yeah different types of players. It will take a few years for most key forwards to bulk up generally. At least they'll have the 2nd or 3rd defender. A good contested pack mark has a big advantage early.

Even if they leave because of lack of opportunity young key forwards will hold their value for longer than a midfielder

With pick 10 if Curnow is gone Balic is a smooth operator plays mid and very dangerous mark and around goal
Balic is another that is injured and seemingly forgotten. It seems that 'out of sight, out of mind' kicks in for a few of the injured brigade. Curnow's stocks have improved since his return, otherwise he'd still be around 8-10.
