So we should kick off with a time trial on wednesday for the 1-4 year group plus Steele and Finlayson who have apparently been given permission to train.

GREATER WESTERN SYDNEY
For the third consecutive year, the Giants adopted a policy of sending players off early for season-ending surgery to get them ready for the following campaign. Jeremy Cameron (ankle) and Nick Haynes (ankle) are already back running, while Lachie Whitfield (shoulder/foot), Stephen Coniglio (thumb), Adam Kennedy (shoulder), Jed Lamb(ankle) and Aidan Corr (shoulder) are among those expected to be fine for the start of pre-season. Tom Scullyonly had knee surgery in August, so he could be on a restricted program initially, and Dylan Shiel is progressing well from post-season shoulder surgery. The only two who won't be taking part in the pre-season are Jon Pattonand Tim Mohr, who have both undergone knee reconstructions and won't be seen until 2015. - James Dampney

The GIANTS are set to hit the training track for the first day of the pre-season with their sights firmly set on 2015. The club’s first- to fourth-year players will be welcomed back with a 3-kilometre time trial at Sydney Olympic Park on Wednesday. The group includes young stars Adam Treloar, Dylan Shiel, Devon Smith, Will Hoskin-Elliott and Jeremy Cameron as well as Josh Kelly, who ran the second-fastest 3km time trial in draft history back in 2013. A number of players have already returned to the club to begin their preparations early while others have hit the gym back home or overseas.

The 2015 fixture was released last week with the GIANTS to kick off their NAB Challenge campaign against Gold Coast at Blacktown International Sportspark on March 7 before opening the season against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium on April 5. PM CAPITAL GIANTS Academy player Jack Steele will be among the group to return on Wednesday while new recruits Ryan Griffen, Joel Patfull and the remainder of the playing group will arrive back at the club on November 17.

Wednesday begins a two month block of training leading into the GIANTS’ training camp in Noosa in December.

Tomlinson from Kelly and Bugg. Greene fourth. Jezza 10th really good to see :) obviously over ankle issues. Jack Steele 9th - promising start from the young fella.

GREENE!!! Happy to see Cameron and Steele having a good one.

Great result from Thomlinson. Sounds like he wants to get more contested footy this season. Music to my ears, as I think that is key area he is behind on. Great running and lead up marking, but now we want that defensive pressure, tackling and contested/pack marking. He will start to resemble a certain fair headed Saint.

Video of todays 3km on GWS website, I can see Griffen first, 2nd Haynes, and 3rd Shiel.
