New thread ahead of our Australia Cup match. After a successful return to the top of the table last season there is high expectations for this season. So far the club is in stable hands, fans are back, membership is high our social media accounts are firing and we have done some good recruiting. Notably Nani as our Marquee player! No piss farting around this season time to go one better and win this bloody league!

Will be just nice to have a non COVID infested season for once. Although Qatar 2022 may prove to be a headache with our team sitting around twiddling its thumbs for 4 weeks.

I'm sure the worst of COVID restrictions are behind us now. But still expect to see players and staff being out on so called "Health & safety" protocols measures.

It does suck that we have a World Cup smack bang in the middle of football season and not just here but in Europe and the rest of Asia too. Just have to make the most of it. On the bright side it might help attendances for the A-League when everyone is in World Cup fever mode when the league resumes.

Hopefully the public ride a bit of a football wave and attendances increase afterwards

It was a strange bit of scheduling - I had assumed that the reason for moving last season was so they could seamlessly have the 22/23 season not start til after the World Cup.

Football Australia kicking more own goals than the games themselves when the other domestic codes are on the nose and they should be plastering this stuff everywhere.
And yet they have a sook when someone holds an Aussie Rules football which did more advertising for soccer in Australia than the FFA have ever done.
