He averages 31 in England, but nice try.

No, he averages 42 when he opens genius. You wanted to slag off his credentials as an opener, well debate his credentials as an opener and learn how to use a stats filter.

In fact his average rockets up to 50 when he’s lucky enough to face your team of plonkers instead of India’s over there. At least they aren’t f***ing dumb enough to keep feeding his f**king pull shot and bowling on his pads despite having 350 test matches worth of experience in their f**king ball pairing

Keep moving things around to suit, oh had had one average series in his life so we’ll ignore every s**t one to make him look good…

By that calculation then Zak Crawley is clearly a better opener than Ussie…

Well in England he isn’t.
Zak Crawley averages 37 opening in England. Usman Khawaja as you’ve had pointed out to you several times now averages 42 opening there.
Crawley also averages 30 as an opener for his career so, you know, a little way off Khawaja’s career opening average of 59 but hey, we will call it even.

It has nothing to do with who I support mate.

If you had actually mastered reading, you’d know I support the West Indies first - which is even funnier because England is the only half decent side we regularly bend over and f**k for fun - Australia last, India and England somewhere down near the bottom and everyone else in between.

I just get a kick out of pointing out your utter bullshit

Lmao Khawaja was literally the leading run scorer in the last Ashes series and he averaged nearly 50. Not to mention that we wouldn't have even been close to winning that Edgbaston test in the first place if it wasn't for him.

You're just letting your really weird dislike of Khawaja get in the way of facts.

Don't feed the troll.
We are approaching Ed's 20th anniversary of trolling the cricket board.

Well, the 19th at least, he was in full trolling form for the 2005 Ashes.

Some of us remember.........

I don’t disagree with you but you can’t just remove a team from an analysis because you don’t rate them, when they squared the series, and have competed with basically everyone they’ve hosted for the better part of a decade bar India

Fine. He still averaged 27 aside from that great 4-test run patch, and 26 from 2016-2023, which is the main point. He didn't actually have a superior average for the bulk of his career than the guys the other poster was comparing him to.

His form in 2014-2015 and its positive impact on his - still very poor - away historical average shouldn't distract from the level of batsmen we were selecting for nearly a decade after that.
