Full article below, but one point made is.....
"Supporters from visiting AFL clubs are routinely escorted post-match from the arena by security staff to prevent clashes with fans of the Adelaide clubs, who are considered among the most parochial in the country. "
Personally, I have been to most Port home games (and a couple of Adelaide home games), and have never seen fans from visiting teams escorted by security. I've never even heard of it happening.
Perhaps those that have travelled to SA for a game can shed some light?
Thanks!

Security review for Footy Park
August 12, 2005
SECURITY measures at AAMI Stadium will be reviewed following recent alleged incidents at the Adelaide AFL venue.
The SANFL, manager and owner of the stadium in Adelaide's west, said new security initiatives will be considered in the review to also encompass SANFL venues.
There have been unconfirmed reports of recent violence outside AAMI Stadium, the home ground of Adelaide and Port Adelaide football clubs in the AFL.
Supporters from visiting AFL clubs are routinely escorted post-match from the arena by security staff to prevent clashes with fans of the Adelaide clubs, who are considered among the most parochial in the country.
SANFL general manager Leigh Whicker said the security review was ratified at a meeting of SANFL club managers.
He said negative behavioural trends at sporting venues throughout the world and across a broad range of sports have made the issue a major priority.
Mr Whicker said current security arrangements at AAMI Stadium and SANFL grounds were put in place two years ago. "The strategies which were implemented . . . will be critically evaluated and new initiatives will be considered to ensure that the football public can enjoy a day at the football in a safe and enjoyable environment," he said.
