He's still contracted to the end of this year, even if Adelaide's SANFL season has already ended and he's already gone home.

But you want to sign the good players up for longer. The problem people have with Mackay's four year deal is that Mackay offers as much to the team on field as I do.

I imagine there's a good chance he'll settle for 5, but if you're in his position and you're set on staying long-term, you may as well try and get the longest deal you can.
