GUEST PASSES:

AFL Members will have the opportunity to purchase up to two (2) guest passes for this match. As per the 2012 AFL Members Finals Guide, a new process is now in place to further protect the sale of reserved seating for the 2012 Toyota AFL Finals Series for AFL Members.

Guest Pass sales will be restricted to the following allocations so the sale of reserved seating for AFL Members is not impeded:
- Level Q

Leaving Level N, Level P and Level M exclusively for AFL Members.

Interesting. Should have been like this last week. Don't know if there are many WC AFL members that will be buying tickets. May deter the crowd.

Same price as last week for AFL members, $17, guest pass $71.

Sorry was thinking about the General Public seating.

AFL members will fill this week as the Silver members only have to pay $17

The Preliminary Final crowd will be definitely price affected.

$110 is a lot to ask for a level Q seat

History repeats, with the AFL Membership Dept only learning the error of their ways during the finals.

A few years ago there was a Qualifying Final sellout (but only the AFL Members Reserve) with members missing out because of the sale of guest passes. When one Member complained the then AFL Membership Manager wrote “Bottom line is that some Members do need to bring somebody along with them to the footy - whether they be elderely, etc.” There was no mention as to how the AFL Membership Dept ensured that the elderly, etc, received priority access to those guest passes.

Less than the two weeks later the Dept released the details for the Preliminary Final ticketing, which included “In order to give Full Members wishing to attend every opportunity of obtaining a ticket, Guest passes will not be available to purchase in the first instance on Tuesday. Should any tickets be remaining after Tuesday's onsale, Guest passes may be made available (on) Wednesday ...” This meant that the AFL Membership Dept now didn’t care about the "Members (who) need to bring somebody along with them to the footy”.

Let's not ignore last year's debacle of deciding to release tickets to three MCG first-round finals at exactly the same time, featuring Collingwood, Hawthorn, Geelong, Carlton and Essendon. What could possibly go wrong?

Shoud be that in the first 24 hours of sale, guest passes are only available on level Q, and even then only 1 per membership. If it isn't sold out in 24 hours then open it up to more guests.

And they allowed guest passes for the Carlton vs Bombers game in week 1 last year.
Was always going to sell out and did very quickly.

Really is amateur hour down there at AFL house.
Next they'll be trying to play a final at 5:15 and making the half time break longer so some band can play on the field.

It will be an X-Factor elimination instead ;)

There will be plenty of spare seats in the AFL members I'd suspect for the next 2 finals I'd suspect with out of towners guaranteed to play.
