Be careful. If you continue in that vein you might get told you need to stop ball watching. We should probably remove the goalposts next. :)

Can't remove the goalposts, we need them for the conversion attempt after the elite runner crosses the line (without the ball, of course, that part is no longer necessary).

Does anybody else feel like Motlop could be the difference in a game like this?
Re-watch his game vs Port @ Geelong last year.
He was the clear standout out of everyone playing on the day.

Impey was drafted because of Motlops dominance.

Does anybody else feel like Motlop could be the difference in a game like this? I just don't see this game being easy at all. I live in Adelaide and I'm surrounded by Crows supporters who claim to expect Port to drop away at the end of the season, last year was a fluke, etc. But they're all deluded. Port are a classy team and they're only going to get better. This is a huge game. A massive hurdle. If we do manage to win, I can't expect Port will give it up easily.
Hinkley said we basically recruited Impey to handle the Motlops and Jettas of this world, it was players like this who really cut us up the most last year- we've been without a decent quick small defender (who can defend!) since Jacob Surjan left. Would love to see these two go at it.

edit: snap! 3 minutes too slow.

Don't stress- it happens all the time! :)
We wouldn't mind watching Motlop taking on your specialist recruit either! It'd be a great test for him- but not this week, I hope.

next week of course ;)
well, we do think alike- but for different reasons :) He's only played half a game of VFL (last weekend) since the International games last year- and he plodded along with a bit of an injury for patches during last season. We don't want to wreck one of our best weapons, do we, by using him when the glue has barely dried? :) He's only young and we'd like him to play for us for the next 10 years!

They have just released more seating for the game on Ticketek if anyone was thinking about going. (Previously it was only listing General Admission available) Have decided to book tickets and make the trip from Melbourne. Anyone else going?

Who do you think will play on Monfries, if he does play, Partridge?

Edit- sorry, I know it's not relevant to your above comment but you were discussing matchups...
I guess one of Enright, Taylor Hunt or Kelly. They seem to be the three small defensive options right now. Guthrie obviously seems to be absolutely a midfielder now.

I reckon Monfries is just too tricky for poor old Thunt.
Kelly or Enright would be much better matches IMO. Perhaps one to sit on Monfries, if he plays, and the other to generate more attacking play, if Mack doesn't come up.

Monfries won't play.

Cats squad:
B: Rivers, Lonergan, Guthrie
HB: Kelly, Enright, Sheringham
C: Horlin-Smith, Selwood, Johnson
HF: Stokes, Taylor, Murdoch
F: Varcoe, Hawkins, Burbury
R: McIntosh, Bartel, Duncan
IC: Blicavs, Hunt, Simpson, Motlop, Schroder, Thurlow, Walker

Good on Sheringham for keeping his place in the side.

Thurlow must be in the final side to replace Mackie, other IC's are a guess

Taking a stab at the bench, I'll say: Blicavs, Thurlow, Hunt, Motlop (Sub)

You think so? I reckon the bench is obvious. It's the first four. Simpson won't be dropped, neither will Taylor Hunt, Motlop is back and Blicavs can't play seconds. Almost picks itself.

Should make for a cracking last quarter assuming he is sub.
