Whilst we all agree that crowds seem to be down, we are still doing pretty well.

The solution is to give all the Victorian clubs every unfair advantage over interstate clubs you can think of.

This includes giving them: unlimited salary caps; the first 60 picks in the draft; 100% of gate entry profits when playing an interstate team (regardless of if they are the home team or not) and guaranteed finals games at the MCG.

In that way they will stay un-necessarily dominant for that period of time and cause the MCG to be filled up close to its 100,000 capacity nearly every game like we saw from 2008-2011. :p

baseball crowds are pretty impressive for the number of games played a year. 32 teams and 162 games each for a grand total of 2430 games

Which by my reckoning would make it the most attended. I think the AFL is way down the list in terms of overall attendance. That being said given the catchment, the AFL does incredibly well on a world scale.

Another point to make is that a lot of leagues have a very high % of capacity filled for each game. Id imagine in the EPL its 90%+ for every game. They could get more if they had larger stadium capacity.

For the AFL I doubt we even hit 60% for the number of seats available to each game available.

We're also probably first for highest Food & Beverages pricing, so that's something else.
You clearly haven't been to an Arsenal game!

Americans have to be commended for their willingness to turn up to football games. There's a university side which gets 100,000 spectators for home games ... every game without fail. And this is not even NFL - it's the Michigan University team playing at Michigan Stadium. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michigan_Stadium
