Grooming isn't just about paedophilia

"prepare or train (someone) for a particular purpose or activity"
That literally applies to the Jamie Oliver cooking YT video im watching.

In all seriousness by placing grooming into the category of 'doing anything' basically, you're devaluing the seriousness of grooming.

I really hope this is just you trolling for reactions because you're a miserable campaigner, and not because you actually see grooming as indistinguishable from other things.

No I think it mostly applies to kids and prepping their future.

The use of the word grooming in a non sexual context is mainstream. It was even used in that episode of the Simpsons where Bart was groomed as Mr. Burns heir.

:laughv1:

You're madly Googling to find snippets that back up your new story about why you used the word "grooming".

If you read back you'll see I've been using it that way all along. It's always been about normalising unhealthy stuff from childhood. I used non sexual examples like alcohol, gambling.

Yes. About "progressive groomers taking kids to a pseudo-strip show".

You were echoing the RWNJ use of "grooming" about anything to do with educating kids about sex and gender.

I didn't mention any objection to education.

It also wasn't exclusively sexual, i also said it about online gambling, alcopops, etc.

You realise in order to back the truck up, you've essentially rendered actual grooming meaningless yeah?

I've been referring to kids being groomed into unhealthy behaviours, that might not mean anything to you but it's a concern for many people.

So after all that, what you're trying to say is you meant it in a broad "shady" sense?

I didn't mention Shapiro or say that anyone stripped.

It was a pseudo strip show, ladies walking round in their underwear, kids handing them dollar bills, lurid messages on the wall.

It's textbook grooming in any other context, alcohol and gambling have also been accused of normalising their products for under-age consumers by presenting a child version of them such as alcohol icy poles or advertising through memes on social media.
Wait until you hear about this thing called 'Religion'...

Oh FFS. How many kids go to pubs and clubs with their parents for a meal? You know sometimes people meet other people in pubs, have those adult feelings and go home together and kiss each other a lot?

Their flirty talk doesn't soak into the pub furniture and infect the kids.
USA is such a parody of a country.

Went to Vegas a decade ago for a wedding. On the Bucks night, the groom was wearing a shirt which read "Who the * is Mick Jagger?"

He was told to leave Excalibur because it's a 'family casino'. All the while ignoring the kids running up and down the slot machines and the nearly naked dancers at the tables 10 metres away.

Mostly naked girls & life ruining gambling = Wholesome family entertainment

A swearword on a shirt = Heinous and unacceptable.

Absolutely can't restrict guns because "Muh freedoms!" but * me dead if those kids see some guys dressed up in women's clothing.

Sweep under the carpet child sex offences by religious institutions and the wealthy elite though. Nothing to see there.

Why didn't this photo, from possibly a completely different event, get the attention that this drag show is getting?
Why is there so much misinformation about it, being peddled?
Why is lethality pushing misinformation against LGBTQ+?
1. I think it should get the same attention.
2. What misinformation is lethality pushing against LGBTQ+?
