Pretty ordinary article if he was trying to convince people about the merits of MMA but some of the comments from the readers are laughable.

Don't like our chances of getting UFC in Melbourne next year if this is the sort of hysterical bollocks that people are going to come up with.

It's a bit of a flowery piece that, like a Robert Frost tryhard got a job as reporter or something. It still raises the question: how can MMA in a ring be legal and not MMA in a cage? Wouldn't a cage be safer? There's no danger in two fighters falling through the ropes in a muay thai/dirty boxing clinch, anyone care to hazard a guess as to why this contradiction exists?
