Not in the top echelon of players during his time however managed playing at least 20 games over the 2006-2015 period. Durable 250+ gamers are hard to come by no matter what club you support.

Came back after the year off and struggled to stay in the side under a new coach and game plan.

Has an interest in becoming an assistant coach. Could end up a nice pick up for a club.

Well done on achieving more than most ever will in this sport, Brent.

a terrific player.
Settle down.

Ok player at best. Did the job that was asked of him and forged a respectable career out of it. Nothing more, nothing less.

A very good player, and most Essendon fans will miss him. Not "elite", but probably in our best 2-3 midfielders for most of a decade when the team was of varying quality. Finished top 3 in our B&F on multiple occasions. Very good player, who would have walked into any side, just not in their best midfielders group. Always gave his all for the team on the field.

The year off really hit him hard, and given his form in 2015 you have to wonder what might have been without it (he did very well in 2015, and won the Nobby award at Blitz).

Weird player. Came into the league looking like quite a solid contributrr in his first 1/2 years and essendon fans were excited he would be a premier midfielder eventually

Never really improved. Fustraiting for fans but he went alright. Every clubs needs a consistant foot soldier.

Congrats on the solid career. A pox on him for being banned by the world anti doping comission.

He's been one of my faves for a long time
seriously underrated kick, both field and on goal, despite the odd clanger here or there.

Sad he didn't get more games, but it sounds like the body was ready to retire last year and given the circumstances i don't blame him for going around for one more.
Hoping for a farewell game (or 5!) if he's up for it.

Good player.
Copped a lot of bad jive for some reason.

If he'd played for North our fans would be talking his career up.

Kinda feel this thread was made for people to take a cheap swipe (if not I apologize), but well played Stanton. Best #5
